CAS Ice Cream Birthday | Ellen Hutson x Mama Elephant

Happy Monday! I’m still procrastinating on my mile long to do list, I did knock off a few things, so maybe I’ll call creating this card a break? The new Ice Cream Stand stamp set from Ellen Hutson and Mama Elephant is such a cute set, I just can’t get enough of it!It’s part of their summer of stamping celebration, and there’s a lot more fun coming (make sure to check out the latest release here)!

As I was short on time, I used a graphic from Mama Elephant as my inspiration for coloring! After stamping the images from the Ice Cream Stand stamp set, and coloring the images using copic markers, and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

To ground the images on the card, I used a circle die to create a mask and inked it up using some Salvage Patina Distress Oxide ink.

I added the die cut images to the card and stamped the sentiment from the same Ice Cream Stand stamp set to finish off the card!

Thanks for stopping by the blog, make sure to stop by Ellen Hutson tomorrow as they have a new release coming!

Ice Cream Birthday | Ellen Hutson x Mama Elephant

Happy “Friday eve”! I’m 100% procrastinating on my mile long to do list, but the new Ice Cream Stand stamp set from Ellen Hutson and Mama Elephant was too cute not to get ink ASAP! It’s part of their summer of stamping celebration, and there’s a lot more fun coming!

Given I didn’t have too much time on hand, and I messed up my first colored image, I went for a CAS card, I have some fun ideas brewing in my head, so let’s see if they get on to paper!

To create this card, I started by stamping the ice cream stand and the little hamster (?) from the Ice Cream Stand stamp set and colored them using copic markers and die cut using the coordinating dies (I picked up the combo!)

I masked off the bottom third of the card front and ink blended the middle third of it with Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide ink. I added the colored images, and stamped a sentiment in the white space.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, make sure to stop by Ellen Hutson tomorrow as they have a new release coming!

Mountains and Mugs | Mama Elephant

Happy Sunday! Woah, what? I blog all week and then I have a card on Sunday too, whhaaatttt! Well I made this card that perfectly match’s the Caffeinated Christmas Card ChallengeSnowflakes so I had to she before the challenge it over!

I created this card using some of my favorite Mama Elephant stamps!

To create this card, I started by stamping some coordinating images from the Hot Cocoa Stamp Set and the Sweet Treats Stamp Set with copic friendly ink and colored them in using copic markers. Once colored I die cut them using the coordinating dies (Sweet Treats and Hot Cocoa).

Next I created the front panel for the card, starting with die cutting a windows using the Window Frames Dies, and embossed it using the Snowfall Stencil. Then I stamped and colored the mountains from the Scene Builder using copic markers and a snow pen. Make sure to die cut the mountains with the coordinating dies. Lastly, I created the snowflake background using the Falling Snow Background, embossed with white onto Bristol Smooth card stock and inked up with some tumbled glass distress oxide ink.

I added all the layers together, added the colored images using some foam tape, and finished off with a embossed sentiment and some confetti hearts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something and you get some crafty time this weekend!

Sweet Treats | Mama Elephant

Happy Friday Crafty Caffeinated Friends! I’m up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today with a guest post! Thank you CLC and Amy for having me again! I’m usually a layer it up card maker, but today I decided to attempt a CAS card inspired by the first challenge from the new Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge, Snowflakes and my winter break being stuck in the snow!

To create this card, I started by stamping the mug image from Mama Elephant’s Hot Cocoa Stamp Set and the other two images from the Sweet Treats Stamp Set with copic friendly ink and colored them in using copic markers. One colored I die cut them using the coordinating dies (Sweet Treats and Hot Cocoa).

To assemble the card, I started by dry embossing an A2 card front using the Snowfall Stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs. I layered the images using some foam tape to add a little dimension. I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the Sweet Treats Stamp Set on to a piece of black paper, and trimmed it down. As always I added some jewels to my card to finish it off.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something and you get some crafty time this weekend!

Hugs in a Mug | Mama Elephant

Happy Thursday Y’all! I hope that you’ve been enjoying the last of summer as we transition into FALL! Yes in CAPITOL letters as I love all things fall, especially all the cozy rainy crafty sessions, with a cup of hot chocolate on the side! I love my hot drinks in the fall and winter, so of course this cute Hot Cocoa stamp set from Mama Elephant jumped into my cart as soon as it was released!

To create this card, I started by stamping all of the images from the Hot Cocoa stamp set onto some heavy weight card stock and coloring them using copic markers. The I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Copic Combos : BG 13, 32, 34; YG01, 03, 21; R01, 08, 11, 14, 24, 32, 43; C1; N4, 6; YR00, 01; E11, 13, 15, 27, 31, 55, 57

To create the shaker background, I die cut the Six Window Cover die from some white card stock and inked it up using shabby shutters and worn lipstick distress oxide inks, leaving a bit of white space in the middle, I backed the die cut with acetate, and layered on the foam tape and filled it with some seed beads.

I finished off the card using a sentiment from the same stamp set, embossed in white on to black card stock and trimmed down into a strip. I adhered it to the center/white area of the card, and arranged the colored images around it, adding one of the little accents to each one.

Rainbow Boba Tea | Mama Elephant

Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing another entry of mine to the #mamaelephant2021gdcall!

Entering cards into this guest DT has been a great way to use a bunch of stamps that I have been hoarding for who knows how long! So I’ll let you in on a secret, shhh. I’m not really a big “boba” fan, but I do love milk tea and this stamp was way to adorable to pass on!

To create this card, I started stamping all the images from the stamp set twice, and coloring them in an assortment of colors. I didn’t have the dies when making this card, so I fussy cut all the images.

I wanted to create the whole rainbow with the images, I went with a slim line card. I started by die cutting a scallop and stitched rectangle using the Slim Card Basics die cuts from white card stock. I inked up the stitched rectangle using distress oxide inks, to create a rainbow. I stenciled over the rainbow using the Little Rainbow stencil and white pigment ink.

To finish off the card, I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on to the corner of the card, adhered the colored images alternating between foam tape and glue to create dimension, and added some jewels as a finishing touch.

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call! You can find my previous entries here and here and here.

Birthday Gnomes | Mama Elephant

Back after enjoying some time of social media, not really time off since I planned my first party in almost two years! It was so good to see friends, celebrate my little one and enjoy the summer weather!

If you haven’t seen these posts (here and here), I have been dusting off my Mama Elephant stamps (#hoarder) and sharing entries for the #mamaelephant2021gdcall! Today’s card was a special one as I custom made it for my close friends birthday, and if you can’t tell, she loves gnomes!!!

To creat this card, I started by stamping all the images (didn’t end up using them all!) and multiples of the gnomes holding the sign, from the Little Gnome Agenda stamp set. I colored them in rainbow colors, added the letters of my friends name using the little alphabet stamps from the Little Signage Agenda stamp set. I die cut the gnomes using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the scene to add the gnome, starting with the Slim Card Basics die set from Mama Elephant. I die cut the scallop rectangle once and the stitched rectangle 4 times. Then I die cut 3 of the 4 stitched rectangles with the Slimline Horizon Borders from Honey Bee Stamps. I inked them with shades of green to add the “hills” and “grass”, and used the Petite Clouds Stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs on the forth die cut to create the sky. I added the layers with foam tape, ending with a very thick card, but I wasn’t to worried as I wasn’t mailing it!

To finish off the card, I started by adding the die cut gnome images, some with glue, some with foam tape for added dimension, and accented them with some flowers from Pretty Pink Posh’s Bunny Friends Stamp Set. Lastly, I remembered that I did not add my sentiment! Quickly stamped one from the Simple Sentiments Stamp Set, this is a perfect example where the tiny sentiments save the day!

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call! You can find my previous entries here and here.

Out of this World | Mama Elephant

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to be sharing this card today, finally! It’s been sitting in draft mode for a while (I created it for a friends baby!), and I figured now it’s the perfect time to share it for the Mama Elephant guest design call.

If you have noticed (especially on my Instagram) I have been creating lots of scene and CAS cards! It’s been so much fun working with stamps that are not floral! There’s so much potential out there! And when it comes to scene cards, I have been loving sea and space themed cards! I have a bunch on them waiting in my cart too!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring (with copics) all the images from the Little Agenda Spaceship stamp set, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Next I created to galaxy backgrounds on A2 sized card fronts using distress oxide inks. I won’t do into details as there’s no need for me to reinvent the wheel, but long story short, I ink blended darker shades of yellow, purple and blue randomly and cover the whole sheet with Black Soot Distress Ink. To add some dimension and add some “stars” I splattered both the sheets with water and silver paint.

I attached one of the galaxy panels to an A2 top folded card base, and die cut the second one with the Six Window Cover die using foam tape, to create windows for the name of the baby I was giving this to. I used the CZ design All Caps No 1 dies cut the letters from silver card stock, and added them in the windows.

Lastly I added all the die cut colored images, some with liquid glue and some with foam tape to add dimension.

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call! You can find my first entry here.

Winter scene card | Mama Elephant

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! For once I’m not too excited about the short week, as I keep thinking it’s Monday and I have wayyy to many things to get done! And of course I am procrastinating by editing pictures and writing this blog! But I couldn’t let the chance to guest design for Mama Elephant pass me by!

For today’s card I pulled out some older winter themed stamp sets, inspired by all the “Christmas in July” posts that I have been seeing lately!

I’ve recently been loving creating scene cards with critters and these animal friends on the sledge are the cutest! I stamped and colored the image from the Dashing thru the Snow using zig real brush markers and cut it out using the coordinating dies.

To create the scene, I started by dry embossing an A2 piece of white card stock using the Snowflakes Stencil and die cut a window from it using the Window Frames Die. Next I stamped and colored the mountains and evergreen images from the Scene Builder stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Lastly before assembling the card, I added some “snow’ using a snow pen and glitter on the trees.

I started to assemble the card on some light blue cardstock as the sky (you can also use an ink blended panel) and first added the mountains and trees, layered to peak through the die cut window. Next I added the embossed card front with the die cut window with some foam tape. Lastly I added the little critters and finished off with a sentiment strip using the Simple Sentiments stamp set.

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call!
