Pretty Pink Posh

Sea Friends Slimline | Pretty Pink Posh

It’s been such a fun month guest designing for Pretty Pink Posh that I’m super sad that July is coming to an end! Don’t worry I will still be sharing lots of Pretty Pink Posh inspiration, cause we all know that I am obsessed with their products! If you didn’t get a chance yet, make sure to watch Paulina’s chat with Ellen on YouTube, there’s a sneak peak of the Halloween release coming on August 10th AND those monsters are jumping in my cart ASAP! But till then we play with other critters! Sea creations to be specific!

I’ve recently been loving using all the critter stamps that I’ve been hoarding. I made a card with the Sea Friends stamp set a while back, and decided that I need to use them again with the new stitched waves dies! I started by stamping all the images from the Sea Friends stamp set with copic friendly ink on to heavy weight card stock, and colored them in using alcohol markers, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

To create the scene the started with a stitched slimline rectangle, and die cut two offset circles. Then I used the same circle die cut to cut two circles, which I went on to cut into wave stripes using one of the stitched waves dies. I inked up each strip with a different color, to create a rainbow. I adhered them on to the card base and added the die cut rectangle on to it with the foam tape. Next I arranged the die cut images to create the scene, and added some jewels. Lastly I finished off the card with a script Happy Birthday die cut. I stacked it with rainbow colors, but it’s hard to see that in the picture!

Non dimensional Shaker Card | Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Friday Y’all! It’s been along week, and so I’m ready for the weekend with some extra help with the kids and time with some friends, and fingers crossed some crafty time! I have two cards that I have been working on for wayyy too long! But enough about that, let’s get to the card that I have finished!

I see a lot of chatter on social media about extra postage for mailing shaker cards, so decided to play around and try to create a “non-dimensional” shaker card using confetti and tulle.

I started by stamping the wreath image from the Winter Wreath Stamp Set with brown copic friendly ink (leave the stamp in the MISTI to restamp it after coloring). I colored the image using copic markers, restamped with watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder, and die cut with the coordinating die.

Next I die cut two stitched slimline rectangle and cut out two offset windows on one of them. Using tulle and double sided tape, I created “pockets” that I filled with Berry Bright Confetti Mix. I embossed the sentiment from Penguin Pals Stamp Set, before adhering the colored wreaths with more double sided tape. I finished off the card by adding a sprinkle of Holiday Jewels Mix.

Rainbow Summer Scoops | Newton’s Nook Designs

Hey there crafty friends! It’s been one of the weirdest turned sad weeks, between being lied to and a family emergency, I have had zero crafty mojo and even dropped the ball on projects that are complete and ready to be shared! I’m a day late in sharing my monthly card for Newton’s Nook Designs.

One of my favorite things about summer is being able to eat ice cream with out shivering! So of course I had to make a rainbow ice cream card, with sprinkles on top! I started by stamping and coloring all the images from the Summer Scoops stamp set, I don’t have the coordinating dies, so I fussy cut the images.

I’ve really been into mini slimline cards, so I used a scallop die for the base, and a stitched one cut from pattern paper that looks like a ink blended background! I embossed the sentiment from the Summer Scoops stamp set, adhered the colored images using glue and foam tape to add depth and dimension. And lastly finishing off with some sequins.

I hope this card inspires you to create something for summer! Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!

Floral Window Slimline | Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Friday y’all! It feels like I haven’t been on here in AGES, but it’s only been a week! With the longer days, I find my self crafting less and less, as I am spending more time outdoors! I’ve also been working on spending less time on social media (instagram to be exact!) and deleting it every Friday evening! I’ve been successful for 2 weekends so far and hoping to keep going till its a habit!

Since I finished this card, I figured I would share it before logging off for the weekend!

I’ve been eyeing window slimline dies, but since I’m trying to stick to a budget, I decided to make my own using the Pretty Pink Posh’s Window Frames Die. I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle (using a die similar to the Slimline: Peekaboo Windows Dies), then I did a little guesstimating and die cut the Window Frames Die three times. Once die cut I splatted the die cut card front with some gold paint.

Next I created the backing to the windows, starting with a 3.25 x 8.5 piece of white card stock. I inked it up using distress oxide inks in Seedless Preserves, Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold. I splattered it with some water and more gold paint. Using the window layer as a guide I embossed a sentiment from the Pinata Party Stamp Set to show through the middle window. I layered the rectangle with the windows using foam tape to the inked panel.

To finished off the card, I colored (and fussy cut) the potted floral image from the Flower Bouquets Stamp Set three times. I adhered them to the card using foam tape and added some jewels.

Newton’s Nook Designs 8 Year Celebration + New Cupcake Themed Products and Sale!

Today I am excited to be part of  the 8 year anniversary celebration with Newton’s Nook Designs! To celebrate this awesome milestone, Newton’s Nook Designs has released adorable new cupcake themed products, which I will be sharing on my projects today. There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win!

I’m always a sucker for a birthday themed release, so of course I was super excited about these cupcake theme products, released to celebrate Newton’s Nooks Designs 8th birthday!

For my first card, I inked up an A2 piece of card stock using the new, Cupcake Stencil Set. I used brown ink for the first layer, rainbow colors for the second and red and white pigment ink for the third. I loved the look so much I didn’t want to take too much away from it, so I die cut two balloons, one from pattern paper and a second from vellum using the Balloon Shaker Die Set. I heat embossed a sentiment in white from the Uplifting Wishes stamp set. I layered the balloons that that sentiment is more visible and attached it to the card, and drew in the string using a black marker and added a few jewels to finish off the card.

For the second card, I decided to try dry embossing with a layered stencil and it worked (I only did the first two layers)! So that’s the based of this card. Next I inked up the same two layers of the Cupcake Stencil with orange and pink ink and cut it to create a panel to add on the card base. Then I colored the image from Newton’s Cupcake stamp set and colored Newton and the cake-frosting with copic markers, and die cut it using the coordinating dies. I paper pieced. The cupcake liner with some pattern paper and added the sentiment on it. I offset it on the card base with foam tape and added clay confetti onto the frosting, cause you can’t celebrate without sprinkles!

For my last card, I started by stamping, coloring and die cutting the image from Newton’s Cupcake stamp set using copic markers and the coordinating dies. Similar to the previous card, I paper pieced the cupcake liner and this time heat embossed the sentiment onto it using white embossing powder and added clay confetti to the frosting. I finished off the card with some pattern paper as the base, and the Birthday Roundabout stamp embossed in white on some blue card stock, die cut with the largest scalloped circle from the Circle Frames Die Set, layered on it before adding the colored image with some foam tape!

If you made it all the way here, thank you! I really appreciate it and also wanted to let y’all know that all these new products are for sale in the Newton’s Nooks Designs Shop!

Storybook Florals | Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Monday! Hope y’all had a great weekend! I logged off and went off the grid, hiked, took in nature and had a blast! It was no relaxing and rejuvenating! But it’s Monday and that means back to real life! Sharing a Pretty Pink Posh card today on Instagram and popping in here to share the details!

Today’s card is using a much older (and forgotten product!) from my stash, the Storybook 1 Die, there is a full collection, and I own them all, just don’t use them, LOL! I hope things change as I am starting to make WAY more scene/critter cards!

To create this card, I started by coloring one of the floral images from Flower Bouquets Stamp Set, along with some of the smaller floral images from Bunny Friends Stamp Set using copic markers. After coloring I die cut/fussy cut the images. Next I created the background by inking up an A2 piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in a blue to yellow ombre, I layered with the Leaves Stencil and blended with white pigment ink to create a shadow effect.

Next I cut it the inked panel using the Storybook 1 Die. Before mounting the die cut card front on to card base, I inked up the card base with some light green ink. I added some water splatters to both the inked pieces and mounted the die cut one on top with foam tape for some added dimension. I stamped the sentiment from the Flower Bouquets Stamp, added my colored images, and finished off with some jewels.

Birthday Gnomes | Mama Elephant

Back after enjoying some time of social media, not really time off since I planned my first party in almost two years! It was so good to see friends, celebrate my little one and enjoy the summer weather!

If you haven’t seen these posts (here and here), I have been dusting off my Mama Elephant stamps (#hoarder) and sharing entries for the #mamaelephant2021gdcall! Today’s card was a special one as I custom made it for my close friends birthday, and if you can’t tell, she loves gnomes!!!

To creat this card, I started by stamping all the images (didn’t end up using them all!) and multiples of the gnomes holding the sign, from the Little Gnome Agenda stamp set. I colored them in rainbow colors, added the letters of my friends name using the little alphabet stamps from the Little Signage Agenda stamp set. I die cut the gnomes using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the scene to add the gnome, starting with the Slim Card Basics die set from Mama Elephant. I die cut the scallop rectangle once and the stitched rectangle 4 times. Then I die cut 3 of the 4 stitched rectangles with the Slimline Horizon Borders from Honey Bee Stamps. I inked them with shades of green to add the “hills” and “grass”, and used the Petite Clouds Stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs on the forth die cut to create the sky. I added the layers with foam tape, ending with a very thick card, but I wasn’t to worried as I wasn’t mailing it!

To finish off the card, I started by adding the die cut gnome images, some with glue, some with foam tape for added dimension, and accented them with some flowers from Pretty Pink Posh’s Bunny Friends Stamp Set. Lastly, I remembered that I did not add my sentiment! Quickly stamped one from the Simple Sentiments Stamp Set, this is a perfect example where the tiny sentiments save the day!

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call! You can find my previous entries here and here.

Out of this World | Mama Elephant

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to be sharing this card today, finally! It’s been sitting in draft mode for a while (I created it for a friends baby!), and I figured now it’s the perfect time to share it for the Mama Elephant guest design call.

If you have noticed (especially on my Instagram) I have been creating lots of scene and CAS cards! It’s been so much fun working with stamps that are not floral! There’s so much potential out there! And when it comes to scene cards, I have been loving sea and space themed cards! I have a bunch on them waiting in my cart too!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring (with copics) all the images from the Little Agenda Spaceship stamp set, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Next I created to galaxy backgrounds on A2 sized card fronts using distress oxide inks. I won’t do into details as there’s no need for me to reinvent the wheel, but long story short, I ink blended darker shades of yellow, purple and blue randomly and cover the whole sheet with Black Soot Distress Ink. To add some dimension and add some “stars” I splattered both the sheets with water and silver paint.

I attached one of the galaxy panels to an A2 top folded card base, and die cut the second one with the Six Window Cover die using foam tape, to create windows for the name of the baby I was giving this to. I used the CZ design All Caps No 1 dies cut the letters from silver card stock, and added them in the windows.

Lastly I added all the die cut colored images, some with liquid glue and some with foam tape to add dimension.

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call! You can find my first entry here.

Framed Crocuses | Pretty Pink Posh

Hi! Quickly popping in to share a fun card using some older Pretty Pink Posh products for my second guest post for July! I still can’t believe it and am so excited!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring all the flowers and leaves from the Crocus Flowers stamp set using alcohol markers, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

To assemble the card I started with a top folding A2 size white card base, and added the Lattice die cut. To frame the crocuses, I used the smaller of the Scallop Frame dies cut from some light purple card stock to match the flowers. I adhered the fame and the colored images using foam tape. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Simple Sentiment stamp set embossed in white onto a strip of black card stock and a mix of jewels.

Embossed Shaker Birthday Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Hump Day! I keep thinking it’s Tuesday, so I clearly need to get started on my extremely long to do list! So let’s keep it short and sweet here and get straight to the card!

This card is possibly my most CAS card yet! I love the end result and it was so quick and easy to make! Just make sure that you have heat resistant acetate!

To create this card, I started by dry embossing the small balloon stencil from Layering Balloons Stencils on to an A2 piece of white paper. Next I die cut the shadow die from the Birthday die cut set to create the shaker window. I heat embossed the word birthday from the Birthday stamp set with white embossing powder and the happy on to a strip of black card stock. I created the shaker window by layering the acetate behind the die cut window with liquid adhesive, and added lots of foam tape to create “box”, filled it with the latest fad, clay confetti! and backed it with an A2 piece of card stock. Lastly I added the strip sentiment to finish off the card!

I hope that this inspires you to create something crafty at the end of your day! If you do, and share on Instagram, be sure to tag me (@everydayengineered) and Honey Bee Stamps (@honeybeestamps)! We love to see what you create!
