Sandy Scene | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday y’all! This card is 100% inspired by my sandy vacations plans! It’s been a while since we’ve been to the beach and seeing as summer decided to ditch us here in the PNW, we are 100% ready for some, well A LOT of sun and sand! Maybe a reading a few books too!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring the little kitten in the sand castle from the Kitten Beach stamp set with copic markers (sand castle : E42, E43; Kitten : C7, 5, 3; E00, 000; shell : E11, 13) and die cut it using the coordinating Kitten Beach Die Set.

Next I created the background, starting with the “sky” by inking up a piece of A2 card stock using distress oxide ink in salvage patina and tumbled glass. Next I inked up the (new) Palm Tree Stencil about an inch from the bottom using more distress oxide inks (mowed lawn, frayed burlap, and walnut stain).

Last part of the background was to add the Petite Clouds Stencil using some white texture paste. While that dried, I inked up a piece of scrap paper with frayed burlap and walnut stain distress oxide and splatted it with some ground espresso. Once it dried I die cut it with a die similar to the Sea Borders Die Set, making sure it was a bit over 1 inch in width so that it would match up with my palm trees.

Lastly to finish off the card, I stamped and embossed a sentiment in white on to a banner die cut from the Frames & Flags Die Set using black card stock.

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 4 – Newton’s Kite + coordinating dies  | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Thursday! Today is the last day of the June reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs! We are showcasing the Newton’s Kite stamp set along with its coordinating dies.

Today’s stamp set is another one that it perfect for an interactive card! I used a pull tab mechanism for mine, messed it up a bit, but the card still looks good!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring Newton from Newton’s Kite stamp set with some alcohol markers, and die cut using the coordinating dies, and setting it aside to create the scene.

Similar to my interactive card from yesterday, I used a grass border die and green ink to create a grassy border. Next I inked up my card front using the Petite Clouds Stencil and the Tree Line Stencil, I stamped a sentiment and created the (not so straight!) pull tab. I finished off the card by adding the colored image using some foam tape and snipping off the kite and adding a little twine!

Lawn Fawnatics

Pool Party Shaker Card | Lawn Fawn

Happy Monday crafty friends! Hope that you’re well and summer is there, whereever you are, cause it sure hasn’t shown up here in the PNW! I was up on the ScrapbookPal Blog on Saturday sharing this “detailed” card! It’s been a while since I have made a coloring card, and the Pool Party Stamp Set was perfect to take out my copic markers as I haven’t colored in a while!

To create this card :

I started by splattering an A2 piece of kraft cardstock with Black Soot, Ground Expresso distress oxide ink and white paint to create add some dimension.

Next used Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink to ink blend a sheet of paper. I splattered it with water and white paint for some dimension. Once it dried I die cut it using the Stitched Ripple Backdrop and then with the stitched frame from the Stitched Pond Frame die set. I saved the inner part of the die cut, and die cut the frame again from fun foam and a piece of pattern paper.

I stamped and colored the images from the Pool Party Stamp Set using copic markers, and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

I cut a thin strip and embossed part of the sentiment on it using versamark watermark ink and white embossing powder.

Lastly, I played around with the image placement before adhering them to the card.

Thanks for following along today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something!

Till the next time, take care!

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 3 – Dog Park + coordinating dies | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well and if not, well the weekend is just around the corner! Today I’m sharing another stamp set as part of the June reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs! Today we are showcasing the Dog Park stamp set along with its coordinating dies.

I thought that this set was perfect to make an interactive card! To create it, I started by stamping and coloring the dog, birthday hat and ball from the Dog Park stamp set, using alcohol markers. I die cut them using the coordinating dies and set them aside while I created the scene.

I inked up a scrap piece of paper with some green ink, and die cut it with a grass edge die, I stamp part of my sentiment on to it. Next I inked up my card from with the Petite Clouds Stencil, stamped the rest of the sentiment and created the interactive part of the card. I added the colored elements along with the grass border to finish of the card!

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 2 – Flamingo Oval  | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday! Hope y’all had a great start to the week! Welcome to the second day of June reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs! I am so excited to be here sharing a whole bunch of fun products! Today we are showcasing the Flamingo Oval stamp set that works with the previously release Oval Frame Die Set.

This release is perfect for summer themed cards and what says summer more than a flamingo! I love the pun-ny sentiments on todays stamp set and how well they pair with the Summer Time paper pad.

For my first card today I started by stamping and coloring the image from the Flamingo Oval stamp set using alcohol markers. Then I die cut it using a scalloped oval die cut from the Oval Frame Die Set. I also die cut two stitched ovals from vellum, one to add to the back of the colored image, and one to stamp and emboss a sentiment on to.

I finished off the card by stacking the die cut ovals, and adding to a sheet of pattern paper from the Summer Time paper pad.

While trying to finish my first card I stamped the sentiment you see here on the second card, but it covered too much of the colored flamingos, so I didn’t use it there but also didn’t want to throw it out, so I created this second card!

I used one sheet of pattern paper from the Summer Time paper pad cut in up and flipped it over for a layered too. I wrapped a piece of twine around it before adding the sentiment using come foam tape.

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Day 1 – Beach Bound + coordinating Die, Summertime Paper Pad, Palm Tree | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Monday! Welcome back to the first day of June reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and after an exhausting week of the most random things happening, I am so excited to be here sharing a whole bunch of fun products! Today we are showcasing the Beach Bound stamp set along with the Coordinating Dies, Summertime Paper Pad and the Palm Tree Stencil.

This release is perfect for summer themed cards, and also masculine ones! I love all the products that we are revealing today as they are perfect for masculine cards, which I have a super hard time making!

For my first card today I started my stamping and coloring 3 of of the images from the Beach Bound stamp set with alcohol markers, and die cutting them using the coordinating dies. Next I die cut 3 banners using a die cut from the Frames & Flags Die Set and the new Summer Time paper pad.

I stamped a sentiment from the same Beach Bound stamp set on to one of them and stacked them on to a card front. I finished off the card by adding the die cut images using some foam tape and adding a few sequins.

For my second card, I went for a CAS card using the Palm Tree Stencil. I started by masking off the bottom two thirds of the card front and inking up the rest with light blue ink. Next I added the palm tree layers using 2 shade of brown and a green ink.

I finished off the card with a sentiment and colored and die cut image from the Beach Bound stamp set.

Would you like to win the “Beach Bound” Stamp Set? This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Divided Shaker Card (plus a bonus card!) | Honey Bee Stamps

Hello crafty friends! I hope that you are having a great start to the week! If not, make sure to sneak in some crafty time! Today I’m up on the ScrapbookPal Blog sharing a fun pair of rainbow card, cause when in doubt, rainbow it! I love 2 for 1 cards as extras are always fun!

To create this card :

I started by inking up the first layer (small balloons) of the Layering Balloons Stencil from Honey Bee Stamps using distress oxides ink in Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet

Next used the second layer (large balloons) the Layering Balloons Stencil and inked it up with the brushes I used for the first layer without actually inking up the blending brushes for a lighter shade of the same color.

Remove the stencil to reveal the pattern!

Next I die cut the inked background using the Happy Happy Happy cover plate. Make sure to save the die cut letters for a second card.

Next I added acetate to the back of the card front die cut, and glued in the centers of the “P” and “A”.

I added foam tape around the back of the card front, and also between the letters to create “pockets” for the different color sequins!

Next I lined up the die cut letters back into the cover die so that it would be easier to add them to a card front. I added iquid adhesive to the back and adhered them to the card front.

Next I used the Happy Happy Happy stamp set and coordinating die set to create a few sentiments to the card fronts, adding them using foam tape.

Thanks for following along today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something!

Happy Crafting!
