Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 4 – Fabulous Fungus + coordinating Dies

Happy Thursday! Welcome to the last day of reveal week for at Newton’s Nook Designs March release! The release goes live tomorrow! Today we are showcasing the Fabulous Fungus stamp set along with the coordinating dies.

I used today’s stamp set, the Fabulous Fungus to create this very CAS card! Very rare for me, but I really wanted to let the image of the stamp set shine!

To create this card, I started by stamping two of the images from twice, and the cluster of mushrooms once. I stamped them using light brown ink, and restamped with watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder after coloring the images with copic markers. After the embossing cooled, I die cut all the images using the coordinating dies.

I added the images on to a card front, using liquid adhesive and foam tape for added dimension. I finished off the card by stamping and embossing a sentiment from the same set.

Thanks for following along all week! Can’t wait to see what y’all get tomorrow and what you create!

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 3 – Spring Blooms Oval

Happy Hump Day! I hope that y’all are having a great week, if not, it’s almost the weekend! This week is reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs for their March Release and it’s been so exciting to share inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Spring Blooms Oval stamp set, the newest addition to the Oval Card Front collection, that works perfectly with the Oval Frames Die Set.

The Spring Blooms Oval stamp set is currently my favorite from the Oval Card Front collection cause I can never say no to a tulip or a daffodil stamp set, and you put both of them into one stamp set!! Oh my!

To create this card, I started by stamping the the oval image with light brown ink, and then colored it using copic markers. Once I was done coloring I restamped the image using watermark ink and embossed the image with gold embossing powder. Once the image cooled, I die cut it using the largest scallop die from the Oval Frames Die Set.

To finish off the card, I stamped and embossed a sentiment on a smaller stitched oval die cut, and inked it up using some yellow ink to match the daffodils. I added the sentiment die cut to the oval image, and then added it to the card from that I embossed using the new Quatrefoil Stencil.

I hope you like the card I created, I know this one will be used again soon! Now for the fun part of reveal week …

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 2 – Newton’s Umbrella and Rainy Day Doxie + coordinating Dies

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for the March reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Newton’s Umbrella and Rainy Day Doxie stamp sets along with their coordinating dies.

For my first card today I used the Newton’s Umbrella stamp set. I started by stamping the large image along with a few raindrops, I colored them in using copic marker, and die cutting them using the coordinating dies. I also die cut a banner from vellum using a banner die from the Frames & Flags Die Set and embossed a sentiment from the stamp set onto it.

I finished off the card with an embossed card front using the Petite Cloud Stencil, and I added a strip of pattern paper from the Springtime Paper Pad before adding the sentiment banner tucked behind the color Newton image, and lastly I used the colored raindrops as embellishments!

My second card features the new Rainy Day Doxie stamp set, it’s such a perfect set for spring! My card is inspired by the tulip fields in the PNW, and the Spring Blooms Paper Pad made the perfect easy background for the card!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring the image from the Rainy Day Doxie stamp set, along with the puddle and a few water splatters, and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I also embossed a sentiment on a banner die cut from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

To finish off my card, I trimmed down a sheet of pattern paper from the new Spring Blooms Paper Pad to an A2 size, and added my images with some foam tape. Lastly, I added the banner to the corner of the card front.

Thank you for making it this far into the post! Now for the fun part!

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 1 – Spring Haul + coordinating Dies, Spring Garden Line Stencil, Quatrefoil Stencil, Spring Blooms Paper Pad

Happy Monday! It’s time for the March reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Spring Haul stamp set along with the Spring Garden Line and Quatrefoil Stencil, Spring Blooms Paper Pad.

The Haul collection or as I like to call it, the Little Blue Truck collection is getting a new addition this release with the Spring Haul stamp set and its coordinating die! I used it to create this fun spring card inspired by the tulip fields in Washington!

To create this card, I started by stamping the large image from the Spring Haul stamp set along with some of the smaller images. I colored them using copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the scene on the background using a combination of pattern paper from the Springtime Paper Pad (cloud background) and the new Spring Blooms Paper Pad (tulips), and lastly a grass die cut inked up with green ink and stamped the sentiment from the Spring Haul stamp set.

I finished off the card by the colored truck image, and scattering the smaller images around similar to embellishments. Thanks for making it this far into the post!

CAS Egg Shaped Easter Card | Ellen Hutson

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! I was on the Ellen Hutson Blog last Friday sharing an Easter card using the new Sweet Spring stamp set and wanted to share in on here too cause I loved how it came out! I was inspired (probably more manifesting spring!) using pastel colors that make me think of Spring and all the new blossoms coming our way!

To some, this may not be a CAS card, but for my cardmaking style of ink blending and multiple layers, I consider this a CAS card! Sharing some tips below to match your card to the season!

Firstly I stamped multiple images from the Sweet Spring with black ink on to copic friendly white paper, and colored them using my lightest copic combos. I always associate pastels with Spring, muted colors with Fall, and blues with Winter! The copic markers I used are shown below.

Next I using the Essential Eggs Dies to cut out a shaped card front. I also used the next size down die to cut a golden border to match the gold paint splatter I added to the card front as I wanted to add a little sparkle to the background, after adding the paint it also looked more like an easter egg!

For the sentiment, I used the new Some Bunny die. I wanted to match it to my colored images, but I didn’t have matching colored card stock, but no worries! I just used copic markers to create an ombre look that matched my images!

I diecut a few extra of the sentiment to stack them up before adding them to the card front. I like the dimension of stacked word sentiments on a card front, worth the extra effort! Make sure to save the negative of the die cut to help add it to the front of your card!

Lastly, to add the backing of the card, just score a bit on the top, fold it down and add some strong double sided tape.

I finished off the card by adding die cut word sentiment and the colored images to create a small scene and also used both foam tape and liquid adhesive to create some dimension when layering the images.

Thank you all for following along, I hope that you are inspired to create something with a spring or easter them, or not! If you do get crafty, please tag me @everydayengineered on Instagram, along with @ellenhutsonllc so that we can see what you have made!

And lastly, thank you to the Ellen Hutson team for having me back on the EH blog!

Take care,

Birthday Ice Cream | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday y’all! Look who is back on the blog! I have no idea where my crafting mojo is these days, I guess I have just been living in the real world! Here’s to hoping that March is craftier as I have a bunch of new products starting at me! Today I used a stamp set that I recently got the dies for and decide to create a summer themed card in hopes of manifesting warmer temperatures here in the NW!

To create this card, I started by stamping all but one of the images from the Summer Scoops Stamp Set with black ink on to copic friendly white card stock. I colored them using the copic shown below, and die cut them using the coordinating Summer Scoops Die Set.

To finish off the card, I embossed the card front using the Petite Hearts Stencil, to add some dimension but not much color as I wanted the die cut images to pop. I die cut a banner from colored cardstock using a banner from the Frames & Flags Die Set. I embossed a sentiment on to it using the white embossing powder, from the same stamp set.

I added all the die cut images, along with the sentiment banner, and finished off with some rainbow sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!

Happy crafting!
