Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 2 – Newton’s Umbrella and Rainy Day Doxie + coordinating Dies

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for the March reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Newton’s Umbrella and Rainy Day Doxie stamp sets along with their coordinating dies.

For my first card today I used the Newton’s Umbrella stamp set. I started by stamping the large image along with a few raindrops, I colored them in using copic marker, and die cutting them using the coordinating dies. I also die cut a banner from vellum using a banner die from the Frames & Flags Die Set and embossed a sentiment from the stamp set onto it.

I finished off the card with an embossed card front using the Petite Cloud Stencil, and I added a strip of pattern paper from the Springtime Paper Pad before adding the sentiment banner tucked behind the color Newton image, and lastly I used the colored raindrops as embellishments!

My second card features the new Rainy Day Doxie stamp set, it’s such a perfect set for spring! My card is inspired by the tulip fields in the PNW, and the Spring Blooms Paper Pad made the perfect easy background for the card!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring the image from the Rainy Day Doxie stamp set, along with the puddle and a few water splatters, and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I also embossed a sentiment on a banner die cut from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

To finish off my card, I trimmed down a sheet of pattern paper from the new Spring Blooms Paper Pad to an A2 size, and added my images with some foam tape. Lastly, I added the banner to the corner of the card front.

Thank you for making it this far into the post! Now for the fun part!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 3 – Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift + coordinating Die

Happy Wednesday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift along with the coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

I love creating all ‘levels’ of cards! Sometimes its a super detailed shaker, some times I let the stamp and paper do the work!

For my first card today, I started by stamping, and sentiment, then colored the image from Newton’s Gift with copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating dies. My color palette was inspired by a sheet of pattern paper from the Canine Christmas Paper Pad that I used as the card base.

Once I was done coloring, I trimmed down a piece of pattern paper to an A2 size and used the extra flipped over to create a little dimension.

The colored image was blending into the background, so I decided to die cut a vellum oval using the Oval Frames Die Set to back the image and have it pop a little!

For my second card, I used the new Christmas Nap stamp set, and the image itself is a scene, so I didn’t want to add to much to the card front, and decided to add a night sky shaker window to look like a window behind the sofa.

To create the card, I started by stamping the image, coloring with copic markers and die cutting using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the shaker window using the outline die from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set, and backed it with acetate. For the back of the shaker I inked blended with distress oxide inks in Stormy Sky and Speckled Egg. Once it was dry, I added some texture paste with the Petite Snow Stencil. I filled the shaker with stars and sequins before adding it to the back of the card.

I finished off the card my adding the colored image in front of the window, and adding the sentiment at the bottom.

Would you like to win the “Christmas Nap” or the “Newton’s Gift” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Newton’s Nook Designs – Day 3 –  Autumn Oval Stamp Set and Autumn Paper Pad

Happy Wednesday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not feel like fall outside, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Autumn Oval (works with the Oval Frames Die Set), and Autumn Paper Pad. Here’s how I was inspired!

Today’s reveals are changing gears from Halloween to Fall, and I couldn’t be more excited! I love fall crafting, my favorite is being able to add Kraft paper to all my cards!

For my first card, I embossed the Autumn Oval stamp set in white onto white card stock. Next I inked it up with distress oxide inks in Wild Honey, Scattered Straw and Shabby Shatters. Next I trimmed it down using a scallop die from the Oval Frames Die Set, and die cut a stitched oval for the sentiment, and embossed it in black.

I finished off the card by adding the die cut ovals on to a A2 size Kraft card front, that I embossed using the Falling Leaves Stencil.

My second card is a no-coloring card, using sheets from the Autumn Paper Pad. I cut one sheet down to an A2 size, and cut a strip from another pattern paper sheets along with one from craft paper.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Signs of Fall stamped a Kraft circle die cut using a stitched die from the Circle Frames Die Set and some twine.

Would you like to win the “Autumn Oval” Stamp Set?This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 3 – Christmas Cocktails & Dairy Christmas + Coordinating Dies

Happy Wednesday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Christmas Cocktails & Dairy Christmas along with their coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

Both this sets challenged my creativity as they aren’t my “go to” images, not sure about the cocktails, but the animals and critters are slowly growing on me!

For my first card, I started by stamping and coloring the image from the Dairy Christmas stamp set and die cutting it with the coordinating die. Next I die cut a grass edge, along with a hill from a sheet of pattern paper from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad.I also die cut a fence from white card and inked it up a bit using some brown ink. Lastly I die cut a banner from the Banner Trio Die Set and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on to in.

To assemble the card, I created a cloud background using blue card stock, the Petite Cloud Stencil and some texture paste. After it dried I added all the die cut elements along with the colored image using a combination of foam tape and liquid glue to add some dimension.

For my second card, I stamped, colored and die cut all the images from the Christmas Cocktails stamp set.

Next, I created the background for card, starting with stamping and embossing a sentiment in the center of an A2 card base. Then I inked up in a blue ombre and then using the Petite Snow Stencil along with white pigment ink. Once the ink dried, I shifted the stencil and added some glitter gel to the panel.

Once the glitter gel dried, I added all the cocktail images around the sentiment using foam tape.

Would you like to win the “Christmas Cocktails” or the “Dairy Christmas”  Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 1 – Snow Much Cheer & Newton’s Stocking + coordinating Dies, Meowy Christmas Paper Pad

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Snow Much Cheer & Newton’s Stocking along with their coordinating Dies, and Newton’s Nook Designs first ever Meowy Christmas Paper Pad! Here’s how I was inspired!

I usually hoard pattern paper, but I can’t hoard Newton’s Nook Designs first paper pad!! it’s adorable and perfect for the holidays!

For my first card, started by stamping the image from the Newton’s Stocking stamp set, and colored in Newton using copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating die. Then I paper pieced the stocking from a paw print sheer from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad.

Next I created the background using two sheets from the same paper pad, cutting it into strips and alternating and adding them to the card front. When I tried to add the colored die cut, it was drowning in the background, so I die cut a vellum circle using Circle Frames Die Set and stamped the sentiment on it. I layered it with the colored image and finished off the card with some jewels.

For my second card, I started by stamping and coloring all the Snow Much Cheer stamp set with copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies. At this point I decided that I loved all the images and wanted to use them all on my card, and went with a slimline card!

To create the slimline card, I started buy die cutting the scallop rectangle from the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set and the frame from the Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set. Then I die cut the frame again from Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set again, from a sheet of the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad. I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the same stamp on to one of the pattern paper squares and placed in the middle of the card. I arranged the snowmen and women on the sides of the cards and added some jewels to finish off the card.

Would you like to win the “Snow Much Cheer” or the “Newton’s Stocking”  Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Sneak Peaks Day 1 | Honey Bee Stamps

It’s time again for a brand new release from Honey Bee Stamps! We will be sharing sneak peak daily till May 3rd so make sure to stop by daily for new peaks!

For today’s card, I decided to step out of my comfort zone to use pattern paper, along with the balloon stamps from Fancy Frosting stamp set. I stamped, colored them with copics, restamped and heated embossed with silver embossing powder, and lastly die cut them using the coordinating dies.

When trying to add them to the pattern paper that I chose from the Funfetti Birthday paper pad, which was also going to be the sentiment, they were getting lost so I added a piece of vellum to allow the balloons to pop a bit more.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to head over to Instagram for more inspiration!

Happy Crafting!

Today’s card uses the Playful Pastels paper pad along with the Loads of Spring stamp set (this set works with Pickup sets but I decided to use it on its own).

I stamped and colored the floral arrangement from the set, twice. Then diecut and layered on to some pattern paper with a sentiment from the Spring Joy Bouquet stamp set. Lastly added some Gem Stickers (Playful Pastel).

Thanks for following along for all the sneak peaks! I hope that you were inspired to create something! I have a few more cards with this release to share, so be sure to come back again!

DIY pattern paper | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Hump Day! Today I’m sharing how a recreated a piece of pattern paper using some distress oxide inks! Can you tell which one is the ‘original pattern paper’ and which one I recreated?

Here’s the card I made with pattern paper from the Paper Pad 6×6 | Love Letters.

This was the ‘easier’ card, as all you have to do is stamp and heat emboss the background image onto the pattern paper. I used the Harvest Blooms Background | 6×6 Stamp Set along with some white embossing power and versamark watermark ink.

The second card took a little longer to make since I ink blended and create the background myself. I used distress oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral. After blending, I splattered it with some water to add a little depth! (No idea why I didn’t do this before!). Then I stamped and embossed the Harvest Blooms Background | 6×6 Stamp Set just like the first card.

To finish the cards, I die cut the word ‘friend’ from the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched and ‘hello’ from the Darling Dahlias | Honey Cuts from black card stock 3 times, stacked and adhered it to the trimmed card front. Lastly I added some gems from the Love Letter release.

Who else loves mixing old and new sets! Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Crafting!
