National Coffee Day Blog Hop with Joy Clair Designs

Hey y’all! Welcome back to the recently neglected blog! I’ve still been posting over at Joy Clair Designs and on my Instagram account, just haven’t had the time to blog each card I made! But I’m super excited to be back today to share a coffee (well tea!) themed card as part of National Coffee Day!

If you didn’t already come here from Joy Clair Designs blog, make sure to head over there, as they are giving away one gift card of $15 dollars of Joy Clair Designs Store (valid for stamps only) to a randomly chosen comment on the blog post.

Here’s the card I made for the hop! I used the Cup of Joy digital stamp set, and attempted a pastel look because I’m trying to hold on to summer!

I started by printing and coloring one of the images from the Cup of Joy digital stamp set using copic makers (colors listed below). Since I can’t figure out how to use my cricut, I just fussy cut the images, but I did die cut the sentiment with a banner die cause I cannot for the life in me draw a straight line!

Copic Combos :

To finish off the card, I used a piece of pattern paper die cut with a cover die, and adhered the tea cup image and sentiment using some foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! If you would like to get this or any other coffee themed stamp from Joy Clair Designs, they are on sale! Use code : NCD2020 to get 25% off. Code valid till Oct 2nd.

Acetate Window Cards (with Joy Clair Designs)

Welcome back to the blog! I thought that I would pop in today with a quick and easy card. I say easy even after I made like a bunch of mistakes while making it!

Coloring Medium : Arteza Colored Pencils (Lemon A004, Sunflower A016, Lime A101, Spring Green A042, Sienna Brown A048) and Shabby Shutter Distress Oxide

Firstly I forgot to print a statement till the card was done, so y’all get a sneak peak the the new September release! Then I tried to stamp on the acetate, but my stazon ink pad was dry! And lastly, I feel like the images could have been a little larger! Why I am still sharing the cards? Well I want to show y’all that no one is perfect! And the end results weren’t the worst!

Enough chit chatting, let’s get to the cards! I started by resizing and printing the flower and leaves from the Prized Life Digital Set. Then I colored and fussy cut the images. Then to create the window card base, I started by ink blending the front using a stencil. I cut out about 1.5 inches in the middle of the card front, adhering the two pieces using some acetate. I covered the back of the acetate with white card stock to hide the adhesive. At this point you can use stazon ink to stamp the sentiment onto the acetate, but since my was dried out, I stamped it above and below the window. Lastly I adhered the colored images from the Prized Life Digital Set using some foam tape on to the acetate.

Joy Clair Designs September 2020 release

Welcome to Release Day!! I’m excited to share a fun project with y’all using the newly release, Seasonal Leaves Digital Set!

As I mentioned before, using digital stamps means not only can you resize the images as you wish, your can also foil them! After years of hoarding my mini minc, I finally turn it on these days!

Copic Combos :

To make these cards I started by cropping Seasonal Leaves Digital Set a little larger than 5.5 x 4.5, and printing it out along with a black rectangle of the same size on heavy weight white cardstock. Then I foiled the background print, and used the ‘leftover’ foil along with the black rectangle to make a second card front. Because the toner transfers the foil, you will be able to see the stamp image show though as there was no foil there from the first card.

Foil : Therm O Web in dazzling orange

For the first card, I trimmed down the fully foiled card front, and added some copic colored images from the Beauty Love Digital Set. Before printing the flower, I edited the image and placed the sentiment in the middle.

Distress Oxides : Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple

For the second card with the image foiled, I trimmed it down and ink blended in fall colors, before adhering it to an A2 kraft card base and finished off with some copic colored images from the Beauty Love Digital Set.

The Seasonal Leaves Digital Set is great for coloring too! I just wanted to show you a fun way to make quick cards, that you can mass produce, need be!

Pretty Pink Posh, Stitched Cards

Half done Cards (1)

Happy September! Needed to take a break after a very productive August! 25 cards made, 26 mailed and 17 blogposts! This month I’m challenging myself to use all the colored images and background that never got made into cards!

My first completed card card uses a stitched background (unfortunately don’t remember the company/name of the die), along with a colored butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set from Pretty Pink Posh.

To assemble the card I inked up a scrap piece of white paper with Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink. Then I die cut is using the Happy Birthday to You Script Die from Pretty Pink Posh. I layered a piece of vellum under the die cut sentiment so it doesn’t blending into the background. Lastly I adhered the butterfly cutout using a little foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and as always here’s a list of products I used :

Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set
Happy Birthday to You Script Die
Embroidery Floss
Vellum
Heavy weight white cardstock
Copic Markers
Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink
Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink
Taylored Expression blending brushes

Till the next time, stay safe, sane and crafty!
