Eid Shaker Card | Altenew

Hello crafty friends! Another day, another Eid card! And hopefully I will get the chance to finish another set of cards today, after a baking session. So much to do, so little energy!

I created this card for a blog hop over on instagram, and the y’all loved it so much! Made my heart so full it be able to host a Eid card hop with a few friends! Finally getting a minute to come and post the card on the blog!

To create this card, I started by die cutting the solid die from the Mosaic Dome Die Set from an A2 card front. I stamped a sentiment from the Eid Greetings Stamp Set using black ink, and splatted some gold paint and set it aside to dry.

While the paint dried, I dry embossed the front of a card base using the Moroccan Mosaic Cover Die, and ink blended over it using a green and red ink. Lastly, I created a shaker window, filled it with sequins, and added the card front to finish of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it! If you’d like to see more behind the scenes, I share a lot on Instagram

CAS Eid Cards (no coloring!) | Altenew

Happy Sunday crafty friends! Popping in today to share a simple, easy to mass produce Eid card using some products from Altenew and inspired by their co-founder, Tasnim.

I made 10 of these card in just over an hour, so they are prefect for a last minute crafting project!

To create these, I started by die cutting the detailed die from the Mosaic Dome Die Set multiple times, 10 in my case from heavy weight white cardstock (you may need a shim depending on how old your cutting plates are.)

Next, I die cut the outline dome from colored cardstock. I used Gina K cardstock, but feel free to use what ever you have in your stash and color combination you like! I adhered the two layers of the dome, and set them aside.

I created 10 side folding card bases from craft paper and using one of the domes as a guide, I stamped a sentiment from Eid Greetings Stamp Set using black ink. Lastly, I adhered the domes to the card base to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it! If you’d like to see more behind the scenes, I share a lot on Instagram

5 Quick and easy Eid cards using ONE stamp set (with DStamps)

Yup you read that title correct. I’ve got five cards to share with you using one stamp set! And they are using really simple techniques and products that most crafter have in their stash! So even though there are like 3 days left for Eid, you have plenty of time to make these to add to your gifts! Don’t have the stamp set yet, well then order it ASAP -‘s use it for your Hajj and post Eid parties!

The first card has some very basic coloring. After embossing the image and sentiment, I did very quick coloring with Zig real brush markers. Finally trimmed the card front down and adhered it to a black card base.

The second card took a few minutes longer, I used a cross stitch die from Studio Katia, to create the Kabaa with some black and gold thread. I used the same sentiment, embossed in gold, and trimmed it down before adhering it to a black card base.

The third card is possibly the easiest of the batch, I embossed the sentiment in gold, and the sheep in black and added googly eyes. Done!

The last two cards I clustered the smaller images on an acrylic block and stamped them repetitively to create a background. I was going to keep the card one later, but forgot to stamp the sentiment. Instead I stamped it on some vellum and added it to the card front using some craft foam.

And that’s it! 5 cards that took me 1 hr including the stitching! I hope this inspires you to create and add some handmade items to your Eid gifts!

Salam and Sayings Theme Week (with DStamps) : Day 5

Two posts on the same day? Well I have lots to catch up on! Lots of new things to create and share, so here we go with the last set of cards for this series. The inspiration for these cards was a bouquet of flowers that were delivered with note in a card holder floral pick. I wish I saved the pick for the photo shoot though!

To create these cards, I used some pre colored and pre diecut images from two of my favorite floral stamps set. I colored them using copic combos from Yana Smakula. Then using my largest hexagon die, I die cut two in white cardstock and two in black. I embossed the sentiment onto the black one and stamped with black in on the white. To create the card flap for a space to write your message, I scored one edge at a 1/4 inch and adhered it using some strong double sided adhesive.

Using some liquid adhesive I adhered the floral images in a wreath pattern. At this point I realized using a circle die might have made, making the wreath pattern easier, but I think the end results turned out pretty good!

As always, here is a list of all the supplies that I used for these cards :
Salam Stamps // DStamps
Spring Wreath Stamp Set// Pretty Pink Posh
Spring Wreath Coordinating Dies // Pretty Pink Posh
Bunny Friends Stamp Set // Pretty Pink Posh

Thanks for following along, and I hope that I have inspired you to create cards with different sentiments!

Salam and Sayings Theme Week (with DStamps) : Day 4

This post is days late because I decided not to pack my laptop, thinking that I can type it up and post it on my phone, but I failed. Really badly failed, so here I am on a Monday afternoon when I should be creating/posting for Eid! Can you believe Eid is less that a week away! I’m still unpacking from the wedding weekend. Man, Dallas was hot! Enough chit chat, card time!

To make these cards, I started off by stamping this beautiful floral wreath image from Studio Katia, it’s a HUGE one! My final card was a 5 x 5 inch square. I’ll link the envelopes I use to mail/give this away below. I colored them using chameleon dual tone colored pencils, and diecut using the largest square die I could find in my stash. Then I used a circle die to cut out the center of the wreath. With my card fronts ready, it was now time to finish of the cards. I made 5 x 5 cardbases in black cardstock.

For the first card, I made a window card. Started with lining up card front with the base, and die cut a circle, and create the window. I added a white square to the inside of the card to stamp the sentiment (from DStamps), leaving room to add your message. As usual I added some gems to the front of the card for a finishing touch.

I made the second card a shaker, one of my favorite cards to make! Using some thin foam tape I created the ‘well’ for the sequins, after adding a piece of acetate to cover the window in the middle of the wreath. I added more foam tape around the ‘well’ and added it to the card base. I also added a few of the same sequins on the wreath, along with an embossed sentiment to finish off the card!

Salam and Sayings Theme Week (with DStamps) : Day 3

Hey guys and welcome back to this theme week that I started 2 weeks ago! I’m sorry but life happened, and that means real life and adulting had to take first priority! But I am back now, I have cards, and pictures and now time for the less creative part of the craft blogging world, typing. Lots of typing!

Recently I have collected more than an handful of ‘border stamps’. That’s what I call them, as you can stamp them as a border on the card, color, add the sentiment and you are all set with a completed card! So that’s exactly what I did with this set of cards, I wanted a little extra space to use a larger sentiment.

I wasn’t planning on fussy cutting the images, but I made the rest of the paper a little messy, so fussy cutting (there are coordinating dies for this stamp set) and sequins to the rescue. I colored the images using chameleon dual tone colored pencils. I don’t think I’ve made a card with so much green on it before! The rainbow floral seems to be my go to style these days!

The sentiment was is from DStamps, I’ve been loving using her stamp set as it add a little something extra to my cards with an Arabic sentiment!

As usual here is a list of products that I used :
Salam Stamps // DStamps
Mama Elephant – Wild Meadow // DoodlebugsWA
Party Mix Jewels // Pretty Pink Posh
Neenah Dessert Storm // Ellen Hutson

Salam and Sayings Theme Week (with DStamps) : Day 2

Welcome back for day 2! Waking up three times in the middle of the night doesn’t help with the productive day I had planned, so here I am eating lunch at 4PM and typing this after a 3 hour nap!

For today’s cards I used sentiments that can used instead of Congrats or Good Luck, what do you think? Maybe a graduation or new baby card? I paired them with Magnolia Stamps from Pretty Pink Posh colored using copic markers.

For the first card, I used the storybook 5 die from Pretty Pink Posh to create the scene. I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Ink from Impress, and also ink blended part of the background to add interest. For a finishing touch I added some clear nuvo drops.

For the second card I lightly ink blended the edges of the card, and stamped the sentiment in the same color. And I ran out of leaves at this point! So what to do? I cut the two leaves that I had in half and stuck them behind the flowers. Can you tell? I can’t and I know I’ll be using this trick more in the future! And of course I added nuvo drops for the finishing touch.

One last look at the pair of cards and here’s a list of supplies that I used :

Magnolia Flowers // Pretty Pink Posh
Storybook 3 Die // Pretty Pink Posh
Storybook 5 Die // Pretty Pink Posh

Salam and Sayings Theme Week (with DStampss) : Day 1

As a card maker, the lack of Islamic theme stamps, especially sentiments always bothered me. I’m always looking for sets that I can use for Eid cards, as I have a handful of Altenew Eid sentiments I can use with them. But for any other occasion, I stick to English sentiments, like Congrats and Thank You. So you can only imagine my excitement when I came across DStamps on Instagram and saw their Salam stamp set. I used their Eid sentiments set for my Ramadan/Eid cards, but now I get to share with you every day cards with Arabic sentiments!

For today’s cards I made thank you cards, but with Arabic Sentiments! Perfect for Eid thank you cards, right? But to add a little twist, I decided to make them “open cards” using background/cover dies.

For the first card, I die cut my current favorite lattice die, twice. I scored the top of one, added strong double sided adhesive and adhered the two together. For the front of the card I adhered the colored wreath, and backed it with wreath diecut to hide the adhesive. For the back of the card, I die cut a circle just smaller than the wreath, stamped and embossed a sentiment from DStampss, I also backed this one with another matching circle for a finished look and a place to stamp my handmade by stamp! Make sure to die cut the background die from heavy cardstock.

For the second card, I used a layer die set, cutting the bottom later twice. For the front of the card, I adhered the two layers, and added the embossed sentiment circle and a watercolored floral image. I die cut three more circles to back the sentiment, and add a place to add a message on the back of the card. I water colored the image and the sentiment circle quickly with some zig real brush markers.

Which card is your favorite? I don’t think I can choose! I hope you enjoyed this card and come back tomorrow for another set of cards!
