Ink blended florals (with Gina K designs)

Hey y’all! I’m back 🙂 needed a little break from social media, its been a little mentally draining being on there. I recently heard someone say ‘don’t consume but create content’, and that’s what I’ve decided I’m going to do going forward!

I might not have been sharing, but I have been creating and coloring A LOT! It’s literally the only productive thing that I can do while pumping (sorry TMI), and it’s been helping me stay sane, COVID and all. Enough about that, let’s get back to the cards I came on here to share!

I made these two cards using only the contents of the Gina K designs Nature’s Touch card kit from their July release. I love using kits to make cards as I don’t get overwhelmed with products! My last card with this set was watercolored, so this time I figured I would share an easier way to color the images, especially if you are mass producing cards.

To make these cards I started by stamping the images from the floral stamp set on heavy weight white card stock. Then using my Taylored Expression blending brushes I ‘colored’ all the images using 2 colors (listed below), then I die cut them. Next I used the stencil from the kit to add some depth to an A2 size card base. For the sentiment, I first used VersaMark Watermark Ink Pad and black embossing powder, but that got messy, so on the second card I used VersaFine ink (onxy black) along with clear embossing powder for a much cleaner finish. Finally I adhered the diecuts to the card front using both liquid adhesive and foam tape to add some dimension.

Watercolor floral card (with Gina K designs)

Ever color a stamped image and just can’t decide how to use it? Well I was really stumped with this floral image from the latest Gina K designs Nature’s Touch card kit from their June release. After a lot of back and forth and input from a friend I came up with this card. Not my best work in my opinion, what do you think?

To create this card I started by stamping and embossing the large flower and the leaves from The Best Flowers stamp set on water color paper. I then water colored it using Gansai Tambi watercolors. I die cut them once they dried. To assemble the card I used the Ornamental Fans stencil also included in the kit, and ink blended the background using Distress Oxides Inks (in spun sugar) using Taylored Expression blending brushes. I embossed the sentiment on to some black card stock and trimmed it down. I adhered the sentiment and floral image to the card front and added some Nuvo Drops as a finishing touch.

CAS floral cards (with Gina K designs)

Guess what! I’m a guest designer with Gina K designs for their June release. Seeing as Baby R came early I only just got to creating with the Nature’s Touch card kit. It was the perfect kit to get started on making some thank you cards to send out to friends and family for their gifts and treats to celebrate Baby R, from a distance of course!

Making CAS cards is a challenge for me as I love going overboard with the layers and embellishments, but CAS cards are perfect for bulk cards, just change up the color for variety!

To create these cards I started by stamping the floral image from the The Best Flowers stamp set with copic friendly ink onto heavy weight card stock. I colored them in using different color combinations (I will list them below). After I was done coloring I embossed the sentiment in gold onto the card base. To assemble the card I trimmed down the colored card stock, layered it with a card stock to match the floral image, and finally glued it down to a card base. That’s it! 30 mins and you have 3 cards!
