Retiring Products Week Feature – Day 5 | Newton’s Nook Designs

Did you see that Newton’s Nook Designs is having a retiring sale on their website? It’s time to make room for new products so they are retiring select designs! These designs are available at up to 40% off while supplies last so hurry to get your favorites before they’re gone for good!

All week the Newton’s Nook Designs Design Team has been sharing inspiration using some of their favorite products from our retiring list! Check out what I created today and don’t forget to check the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more fun inspiration!

I added the Love Bites stamp set to my wish list earlier this year, so of course I was a little sad to see it as part of the Retiring Products! But at least I got to use it one last time before it sells out! It’s an adorable set prefect for lunch box notes, anniversary cards, and of course Valentines cards.

I couldn’t decide between the stamps, so I used them ALL! At least my card basket is full, now to actually mail them! To create this cards, I started by stamping and coloring all the images from the Love Bites stamp set using copic markers, and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

Next I die cut a stack of hearts using a stitched heart die from the Heart Frames Die Set from the Love & Meows Paper Pad. Before adding the heart die cuts to the card base, I added a little ink blending using the Petite Hearts Stencil with some pink ink. I finished off the cards by stamping the matching sentiment onto the die cut heart, along with some clay heart confetti.

Get Cracking on Christmas | Pretty Pink Posh

I finally finished my card for #getcrackingonChristmas for Jenn Shurkus‘ monthly challenge, using Claire’s Card On Christmas Card Challenge monthly theme of “background stamp” as my starting point! I had the image colored in already so managed to put it together during nap time, and now racing against the clock to share this card before little R wakes up!

To create this card, I started by embossing the Falling Snow Background from Honey Bee Stamps using white embossing powder. Next I inked it up using distress oxide inks (in chipped sapphire, broken china and salty ocean), buffed it to let the white pop through again, added some gold paint splatters, and set it aside to dry.

Next I colored the wreath from Pretty Pink Posh’s Winter Wreath Stamp Set using copic makers, then embossed it using gold embossing powder and die cut it using the coordinating die. I die cut a banner from some blue card stock, and embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set and added it behind the wreath, and added the wreath to the inked background with foam tape. Lastly I added some jewels from the Holiday Jewels Mix.

If you made it this far, thank you! If you are inspired by any of my work please tag me on Instagram as I would love to see your recreation!

Baby Card | Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Wednesday y’all! The sun came out, so I went out, and thus this post is being typed (and hopefully posted) in a small window of time before it’s dinner time!

Sharing a rainbow-ish baby card today that won’t take you days to create!

To create this card, I started by inking up one layer of the Layered Hearts Stencils with pink pink and the second layer with light blue ink.

Next I embossed the “BABY” stamp from the Baby Stamp Set on to white card stock with white embossing powder. I ink blended it in a green to yellow ombre, and buffed it to make the white pop through again. I die cut the letters using the coordinating dies and added them to the inked card front using foam tape.

I finished off the card by embossing “congratulations” from the Simple Sentiments Stamp Set using gold embossing powder on to a black strip die cut using the Simple Strips Dies. And as always I added some jewels.

Retiring Products | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday! Life happened yesterday and I didn’t get to finish this card to share with y’all!

Did you see that Newton’s Nook Designs is having a retiring sale on their website? It’s time to make room for new products so they are retiring select designs! These designs are available at up to 40% off while supplies last so hurry to get your favorites before they’re gone for good!

All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite products from our retiring list! My “official” post is Friday but I wanted to come on here and share earlier incase some of the stamps sell out! Check out what I created today and don’t forget to check the NND Blog each day this week for more fun inspiration!

To create my card today, I started by stamping the floral wreath from the Happy Little Thoughts with light brown ink onto heavy weight white card stock. I colored it using copics, and then stamped it again and embossed it using rose gold embossing powder. I fussy cut the image and stamped the sentiment from the Peony Blooms stamp set using pink ink.

To finish the card, I inked up a piece of vellum using the Petite Flowers Stencil and white pigment ink. I let it dry for a while before adding the rest of the elements.

Once the vellum dried, I added a strip cut from scrap paper using a banner die from the  Bookmark Die Set, added the colored image with foam tape, and finished off with some jewels!

And before I forget, the colors on this card were inspired by the current Inky Paws Challenge!

Lawn Fawnatics

Love you to the MOON | Lawn Fawnatics #117

Happy Sunday! Popping in quickly to share a quick, no stamping card inspired by the latest Lawn Fawnatics challenge – “Lots of Hearts“.

Just like my last Lawn Fawnatics card this one was inspired by Carly! We were chatting about how we don’t use much black on our cards, and decided to change it up and create a space themed/galaxy card! Honestly, I didn’t like the way this card turned out and I made a million mistakes along the way, but I am still sharing it to encourage y’all to just create!

To create this card, I started by stamping some of the images from the out of this world stamp set, “moon” using quinn’s abcs, and the little hearts from baked with love stamp set. I colored them using copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating die (out of this world, baked with love, quinn’s abcs).

copic combos : R27, 29, 35; Y13, 15, 17; BG 10; B00, 01, 12, 32; E11, 33; C00,1, 3. 5, 7; G14, YG06

Next I created a galaxy background using distress oxide inks (in Picked Raspberry, Spice Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Pine Needles, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Black Soot), and gold paint. Once it dried I die cut out a heart using Heart Frames Die Set. I created the background for the card using the Staggered Hearts stencil.

I finished off the card by adding the colored elements to the card front and building the sentiment using the letters “moon” and embossing the rest on black cardstock strips using gold embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope y’all have a great week!

Pink Fresh Studios

Citrus Blooms | Pink Fresh Studios

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends! I hope that your weekend is relaxing and filled with a ton of crafty time! I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and try out the latest trend of layered stencils for coloring floral stamps! Today I am using the Citrus Bloom stamp from Pink Fresh Studios with the coordinating Citrus Bloom Layering Stencils.

To create this card I started with an A2 piece of white card stock to match the guidelines and I found it easier to ink first, then add the stamped image.

I started with inking up the flowers on the image using distress oxide ink in Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, and Wilted Violet.

Next I ink blended the leaves using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.

The last layer of ink blending was the fruits. I used Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade for the oranges and Squeezed Lemon and Scattered Straw for the lemons.

Once I was done inking I used VersaMark watermark ink and Lawn Fawn gold embossing powder to emboss the Citrus Bloom stamp onto the inked panel.

Lastly I die cut the images using the coordinating dies, and also diecut the Simply Diamonds cover die from green card stock, the sentiment “hello” from the Darling Dahlias die cuts to assemble the card.

Thanks for following along today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something!

Sweet Treats Blog Hop | Newton’s Nook Designs

Welcome to the Newton’s Nook Designs 8th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

The Newton’s Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentine’s day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

I love using stamp and “regular” dies to make tags, it’s a great way to get more use out of your products and add a personal touch too! For my Sweet Treats project today, I created heart shaped tags using the Heart Frame Die Set along with a hole punch!

If you didn’t know already, I am a baker! So I look for any excuse to use the Made from Scratch stamp set! To create these tags, I started by stamping all the images (minus the stand mixture) on to white card stock using copic friendly ink a few times. After coloring them in with copics, I fussy cut them (you can also use the coordinating dies).

Next to create the “tag” I die cut stitched hearts using the Heart Frame Die Set from the Love & Meows Paper Pad. I stamped the sentiment from the Made from Scratch stamp set on one corner and made a hole on the other to add some ribbon. I added the colored images using glue and foam tape, and a few confetti hearts to finish off the tags!

Heartfelt Thanks | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday, Happy February and Happy Lunar New Year! I’m so ready for a fresh start, January was LONG, tiring and I am still playing catch up. I had so so many things planned for January, and none of it happened 😦 So here’s to a fresh start to 2022 with LNY!

I’m up on the Newton’s Nook Design Blog today sharing a Thank You card (that you can change up a bit to make a Valentines day card!) mixing some older products with their latest stencil, the Petite Hearts Stencil from their January release.

To create this card, I started by adding Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo to the Petite Hearts Stencil on an A2 white sheet of paper, once it dried I ran it through my laminator with a sheet of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets (in Pink Carnation). My sheet warped a bit so stacked a few books over it while I worked on my coloring.

Copic Combos : R24, 22, 20; YG17, 13, 01

Next I stamped the image from Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set onto copic friendly card stock using a light brown ink and colored it using copic markers (combinations listed above). After I finished coloring I restamped the image with watermark ink and embossed it in gold. Next I die cut the colored image to give it a stitched and scalloped edge by using the Heart Frame Die Set

To finish off the card, I the die cut heart over the flocked heart background. Then I built the sentiment using the word “heartfelt” from the Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set, embossed in gold and paired it with a “thanks” die cut in gold, and backed with a black die cut to create a shadow.

I hope these cards inspire you to create something winter themed! Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!
