Winter scene card | Mama Elephant

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! For once I’m not too excited about the short week, as I keep thinking it’s Monday and I have wayyy to many things to get done! And of course I am procrastinating by editing pictures and writing this blog! But I couldn’t let the chance to guest design for Mama Elephant pass me by!

For today’s card I pulled out some older winter themed stamp sets, inspired by all the “Christmas in July” posts that I have been seeing lately!

I’ve recently been loving creating scene cards with critters and these animal friends on the sledge are the cutest! I stamped and colored the image from the Dashing thru the Snow using zig real brush markers and cut it out using the coordinating dies.

To create the scene, I started by dry embossing an A2 piece of white card stock using the Snowflakes Stencil and die cut a window from it using the Window Frames Die. Next I stamped and colored the mountains and evergreen images from the Scene Builder stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Lastly before assembling the card, I added some “snow’ using a snow pen and glitter on the trees.

I started to assemble the card on some light blue cardstock as the sky (you can also use an ink blended panel) and first added the mountains and trees, layered to peak through the die cut window. Next I added the embossed card front with the die cut window with some foam tape. Lastly I added the little critters and finished off with a sentiment strip using the Simple Sentiments stamp set.

As mentioned before I am adding this as an entry to the #MamaElephantCD2021Call!

Thanks for stopping by today! If you are every inspired by work you can copy away! If you do share on social media, please tag me so that I can see!

Snowball Fight | Evelin T Designs

Happy Friday! For the first time in a long time I have a to do list for today including writing up a bunch of blogpost cause I’ve got a ton of fun stuff to share next week! Stay tuned for lots of cute inspiration! Speaking of cute, how adorable are these little critters from Evelin T Designs!

I colored the two little animals from the Baby, it’s Cold Outside stamp set with Zig Real Brush Markers and fussy cut them. To create the scene, I die cut both the scallop and the stitched rectangle along with the hill from the Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts. I stamped and embossed the entire stitched rectangle with the snowflake image with white embossing powder. Then I ink blended over it using some distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass. Lastly I smooshed some glue on to the ‘hill’ piece and covered it with chunky glitter after stamping the sentiment from the same stamp set.

To assemble the card, I layered the die cuts, with some foam under the hill to add dimension. Then added the critters along with their snowballs (that I covered with glossy accents after sticking them to the card).

I hope this inspires you to create more thank just holiday card with our winter stamps! This card is part of my #ammismakecards on Instagram, be sure to hop on over and see what my friends have made with me!

Snowy Celebration | Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello there and welcome back to my very neglected blog! I’m going to try and be more regular here this year! Let’s see how successful I am with that goal! I don’t know about you but I’m all about stretching my supplies so of course I couldn’t put away my holiday/winter stamps I didn’t get a chance to use in December, then again it still is winter in January, so I made a winter themed birthday card for my first post over at Newton’s Nook Designs!

I stamped the image using black waterproof ink, and coloring using Zig real brush markers. for the background I heat embossed the little snowflake images onto some gray cardstock, and layered it with a panel embossed with a birthday image and ink blended it to add a little pop of color.

If you know me, then you know that I love creating cards with layers, and also end up using a bunch of sets, listed below:
Newton’s Snowman Stamp Set
Newton’s Snowman Die Set
Snowman Greetings Stamp Set
Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set
Frames & Flags Die Set
Banner Trio Die Set
