Little Blue Truck’s Christmas | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Monday! I can’t believe it’s winter break already! I clearly got nothing done as it’s been one thing after the next, and being sick on top of it all, its been a LONG winter, I am sooo ready to get past this chapter of life LOL.

Being sick means staying home as lot, resulting in reading A LOT! I might come on here sometime to share my 2022 reads, I have big plans to finish 3 books in the next 2 weeks to meet my year goal, let’s see how that goes! But what I have been reading a lot of it the little blue truck and his adventures! My little one loves anything that moves, so this card is inspired by his antics!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring the image of the truck from the Holiday Haul Stamp Set. As I mentioned my coloring was inspired by the “Little Blue Truck”, once I was done coloring, I die cut it using the coordinating Holiday Haul Die Set. The copic colors I used are shown below.

I created the background of the card, with multiple layers of ink blenidng and stenciling! For the first later, I used shades of grey-blue to create a winter evening sky, next I ink blended the line of trees using the Christmas Tree Line Stencil, along with 2 shades of green ink and brown for the stumps. My last layer was done using the Petite Snow Stencil, and texture paste.

Only after the white texture paste dried, did I notice that I hadn’t stamped a sentiment nor left space for one! So I quickly cut a hill from some scrap paper, inked it up lightly with some grey ink, and stamped a sentiment from the Heartfelt Holidays Stamp Set. Once the texture paste dried, I finished off the card by adding the sentiment strip and the colored image of the truck.

For today’s hop I created this fun see though card using acetate! This card actually ended up the way I imagined in my head!

To create it, I started by stenciling the Snowfall Stencil with texture paste on to a sheet of acetate, once it dried a trimmed it down to an A2 card front.

While the stenciled acetate was drying, I colored from the Newton’s Gift using copic marker, and die cut it using the coordinating die. I also embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set in white embossing powder. Next I die cut two stitched ovals using the Oval Frames Die Set from the Canine Christmas Paper Pad.

To finish the card, I trimmed down a sheet of light blue paper to an A2 size, and scored it 1/4 of an inch on the long edge and used double sided tape the acetate sheet to create the card front. I added the ovals die cuts to the acetate sheet, and then the colored die cut image. Lastly I finished the card off by stamping a sentiment from the Heartfelt Holidays.

Today may be the last day here on the blog, but make sure to check my instagram as I will be sharing more over there! To create today’s card, I started by stamping and embossing the image with silver embossing powder from the Snowflake Oval set. I inked it up using distress inks shown below and splattered it with silver paint. Once it dried, I die cut it using one of the scallop oval dies from the Oval Frames Die Set.

To finish off the card, I embossed the Snowfall Stencil on to an A2 card base and splattered it with the same silver paint for a little added dimension. Once it dried, I layered the ink blended, stamped image along with a sentiment stamped and embossed in silver, and splattered it with silver paint, and added it with some foam tape to the card front.

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 3 – Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift + coordinating Die

Happy Wednesday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift along with the coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

I love creating all ‘levels’ of cards! Sometimes its a super detailed shaker, some times I let the stamp and paper do the work!

For my first card today, I started by stamping, and sentiment, then colored the image from Newton’s Gift with copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating dies. My color palette was inspired by a sheet of pattern paper from the Canine Christmas Paper Pad that I used as the card base.

Once I was done coloring, I trimmed down a piece of pattern paper to an A2 size and used the extra flipped over to create a little dimension.

The colored image was blending into the background, so I decided to die cut a vellum oval using the Oval Frames Die Set to back the image and have it pop a little!

For my second card, I used the new Christmas Nap stamp set, and the image itself is a scene, so I didn’t want to add to much to the card front, and decided to add a night sky shaker window to look like a window behind the sofa.

To create the card, I started by stamping the image, coloring with copic markers and die cutting using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the shaker window using the outline die from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set, and backed it with acetate. For the back of the shaker I inked blended with distress oxide inks in Stormy Sky and Speckled Egg. Once it was dry, I added some texture paste with the Petite Snow Stencil. I filled the shaker with stars and sequins before adding it to the back of the card.

I finished off the card my adding the colored image in front of the window, and adding the sentiment at the bottom.

Would you like to win the “Christmas Nap” or the “Newton’s Gift” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 2 – Holiday Haul and Wreath Pups + their coordinating Die

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Holiday Haul and Wreath Pups along with their coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

I didn’t get to using the Canine Christmas Paper pad on Day 1 of sneak peaks, so I pulled it out for today’s card! I also used my favorite technique of dry embossing with stencils to add a little extra dimension to the cards.

For my first card, I started by die cutting a piece of pattern paper to crate a gift card holder (you can also use a Cricut!) I also die cut a small rectangle to back my image, to help it pop on the pattern paper. I embossed it using the Petite Snow Stencil. Last die cut piece was a banner using the Banner Trio Die Set, cut from black cardstock, onto which I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Holiday Heights stamp set.

To finish off the card, I stamped, colored and die cut the image from the Wreath Pups stamp set using copic markers (shown above) and die cut it using the coordinating die before adhering it to the card.

For my second card, I couldn’t help but make a little red truck! Maybe next time it’ll be the little blue truck!

To create this card, I started my stamping and coloring the image from the Holiday Haul stamp set using copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating die.

To finish off the card, I started by embossing the card front using the Holiday Foliage Stencil, the next layer is a plaid pattern paper from the Christmas Time Paper Pad die cut using a frame die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. Last ‘layer’ is the sentiment, from the same Holiday Haul stamp set, stamped on to a banner die cut from the  Frames & Flags Die Set. After stamping the sentiment, I ink blended over it to add some dimension and tucked it behind the colored image.

Would you like to win the “Holiday Haul” or the “Wreath Pups” Stamp Set?We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Pretty Pink Posh

Get Cracking on Christmas | Pretty Pink Posh

I finally finished my card for #getcrackingonChristmas for Jenn Shurkus‘ monthly challenge, using Claire’s Card On Christmas Card Challenge monthly theme of “background stamp” as my starting point! I had the image colored in already so managed to put it together during nap time, and now racing against the clock to share this card before little R wakes up!

To create this card, I started by embossing the Falling Snow Background from Honey Bee Stamps using white embossing powder. Next I inked it up using distress oxide inks (in chipped sapphire, broken china and salty ocean), buffed it to let the white pop through again, added some gold paint splatters, and set it aside to dry.

Next I colored the wreath from Pretty Pink Posh’s Winter Wreath Stamp Set using copic makers, then embossed it using gold embossing powder and die cut it using the coordinating die. I die cut a banner from some blue card stock, and embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set and added it behind the wreath, and added the wreath to the inked background with foam tape. Lastly I added some jewels from the Holiday Jewels Mix.

If you made it this far, thank you! If you are inspired by any of my work please tag me on Instagram as I would love to see your recreation!

Mountains and Mugs | Mama Elephant

Happy Sunday! Woah, what? I blog all week and then I have a card on Sunday too, whhaaatttt! Well I made this card that perfectly match’s the Caffeinated Christmas Card ChallengeSnowflakes so I had to she before the challenge it over!

I created this card using some of my favorite Mama Elephant stamps!

To create this card, I started by stamping some coordinating images from the Hot Cocoa Stamp Set and the Sweet Treats Stamp Set with copic friendly ink and colored them in using copic markers. Once colored I die cut them using the coordinating dies (Sweet Treats and Hot Cocoa).

Next I created the front panel for the card, starting with die cutting a windows using the Window Frames Dies, and embossed it using the Snowfall Stencil. Then I stamped and colored the mountains from the Scene Builder using copic markers and a snow pen. Make sure to die cut the mountains with the coordinating dies. Lastly, I created the snowflake background using the Falling Snow Background, embossed with white onto Bristol Smooth card stock and inked up with some tumbled glass distress oxide ink.

I added all the layers together, added the colored images using some foam tape, and finished off with a embossed sentiment and some confetti hearts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that this card inspires you to create something and you get some crafty time this weekend!

Get Cracking on Christmas | Newton’s Nook Designs

Woah, twice in one day! Well I made a card for #getcrackingonChristmas for Jenn Shurkus‘ monthly challenge and I couldn’t wait till next month, so here we are during nap time, racing against the clock to share this card!

I didn’t know where to start when I sat down to create this card, and then went through my “new” thought process to “get in the mood!”, and I’ll share with y’all too incase you need to find your mojo:
1. When to post? This was easy as get cracking on Christmas is every third Thursday of the month, this gave me a “deadline” of sorts.
2. Theme? Basically what stamp set I should use, I wanted to use on that I hadn’t inked up yet as part of my buy less, use more challenge! But I found like a dozen unused holiday stamps, oops. Then I stumbled upon Claire’s Card On Christmas Card Challenge and used her monthly theme of “Santa” as my starting point, and inked up this Dear Santa stamp from Newton’s Nook Designs.
3. Layout? Since my stamp was from Newton’s Nook Designs, I figured I would just check out there challenge blog, Inky Paws Challenge and found it was a sketch one! So, that’s what I used!
4. Color Scheme? well the stamp matched this pattern paper and I just took that as a sign!

Okay, enough about getting my mojo back! If you are here to create this card, then let’s get started. I stamped the image of Santa holding the presents from the Dear Santa, and colored it in using copic markers to match a scrap piece of pattern paper from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad, and die cut it using the coordinating dies.

Next I die cut a banner from the Frames & Flags Die Set from green card stock and embossed a sentiment in white from the Snow Much Cheer stamp set. I also embossed an A2 size card front of the same green card stock using the Holiday Foliage Stencil. Lastly, I die cut the patten paper using a stitched rectangle from the Frames & Flags Die Set. Once I layered all the pieces together, I added some jewels to finish off my card.

Copic Combos : B00, 02; R27, 29; Y13; C00, 1, 3, 5, 7; E11, 13

If you made it this far, thank you! If you are inspired by any of my work please tag me on Instagram as I would love to see your recreation!

It’s the holidays! | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Hump Day! Not sure if it’s the fact that my weekend starts earlier this week or the fact that I’m still playing catch up from the weekend, but this week is flying by! Can you believe it’s 2022 in like 23 days 🤯 Anyways let’s get back to card making, are y’all done with holiday cards?? If not here’s one that can be mass produced!

Ink blending is one of my favorite ways to add color quickly for cards, you can see here, here, and many more ideas here.

To create this card, I started by inking up an A2 piece of Bristol Smooth card stock with distress oxide inks in chipped sapphire, abandoned coral, dried marigold, crushed olive and salvage patina. Next I die cut both the Pierced Fancy Flakes Cover Plate and the Fancy Flakes Cover Plate, layered from the same sheet of A2 white card stock.

To finish off the card I die the words “merry Christmas” from the Bitty Buzzwords: Holidays Dies from golden card stock, and used a few left over colored die cuts from the Riding By…Holiday Style stamp set, and of course I added some jewels!

I hope that this inspires you to create something crafty at the end of your day! If you do, and share on Instagram, be sure to tag me (@everydayengineered) and Honey Bee Stamps (@honeybeestamps)! We love to see what you create!
