Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – Day 2 – Count Newton & Trick or Treat Kittens + coordinating Dies

Welcome back for day 2 of reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Count Newton and Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set and coordinating dies. Here’s how I was inspired!

As I mentioned yesterday Halloween cards are a whole new world to me! I didn’t really know where to start but decided to have some fun and play around with colors, and love the results! More Halloween coming your way from now!

For my first card I started by creating a galaxy background on some heavy weight black cardstock using distress oxide inks, along with some metallic paints. I used a die to create windows for my scene and embossed the sentiment from the Count Newton stamp set on to one of them in gold.

Next I stamped and colored the images from the Count Newton stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I arranged them around the window on the card front, adhering them with a combination of glue and foam tape.

My second card is probably my favorite stamp from this release (you’ll be surprised that it’s not another one, once you see the whole release!). To create this card, I started by die cutting the word “BOO” from some left over galaxy paper from my first card. Then I created the background using the Candy Corn Stencil, I inked up the first two layers with pigment ink, and the last layer with some texture paste.

Next I stamped and colored all the images from the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I adhered the larger images in the free space between the “BOO” and added the extra candy images around the letters.
