Night skies and Witch Boos | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope y’all had an amazing weekend and got in a bunch of crafty time! Halloween is growing on me it seems, as I am back with another Halloween card! This time with a night sky in background!

I’ve recently been trying to take more process pictures while crafting, as I know many of you appreciate them!

I started to create this card, by die cutting a circle and inking it up using distress oxide inks in Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey, to create a moon.

Next I inked up the negative space create the night sky, again using distress oxides, this time in twisted citron, lucky clover, chipped sapphire and black soot.

Next I added the two die cut pieces to a card front and splattered it with gold paint and let it dry.

Next I stamped and colored a image of a witch from Newton’s Nook Designs Brooms & Boos using the copic markers shown in the picture above. After coloring, I die cut it using the coordinating die from Brooms & Boos Die Set.

I finished off the card by embossing a sentiment from the Brooms & Boos stamp set on to a banner die cut from the Banner Trio Die Set using black card stock and gold embossing powder. I also embossed some stars in gold on to black card stock along with some bats in black on to white card stock, and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I finished off the card my adhering the colored image along with all the embossed pieces as “embellishments” and the sentiment using a combination of glue and foam tape for dimension.

Sharing more Halloween inspiration today, using a cute stamp set, Halloween Pile and a newest addition to the Oval Card Front Collection, the Spiderweb Oval stamp set! I went for easy cards today, but I can’t wait to use then again for shaker cards!

I finished off the card by stamping and embossing a sentiment on to a strip of black card stock with white embossing powder, and added it to a piece of pattern paper from the Halloween Woofs Paper Pad trimmed down to an A2 size card front, along with the die cut pieces.

Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – Day 1 – Franken-Newton + coordinating Die, Halloween Meows Paper Pad, Halloween Woofs Paper Pad and Jack-o’-lantern Stencil Set

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not feel like fall outside, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Franken-Newton  stamp set and coordinating dies, Halloween Meows Paper Pad, Halloween Woofs Paper Pad and Jack-o’-lantern Stencil Set. Here’s how I was inspired!

Before last year, I never used to make Halloween cards, and I also rarely used my pattern paper, I was more about hoarding it! Being part of the Newton’s Nook Designs has pushed me creatively and I couldn’t be more excited about this years Halloween/Fall release from Newton’s Nook Designs!

For my first card, I used the Franken-Newton stamp set along with the coordinating dies. I started by stamping two of the images to create a couple, and colored them using copic markers (shown below).

After coloring the images, I cut them using the coordinating dies. I used a couple of dies from the Heart Frames Die Set to die cut a heart from the Halloween Woofs Paper Pad and one from black cardstock that I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the Franken-Newton stamp set with white embossing powder.

I finished off the card, with a background panel cut down to an A2 size, and layered on the colored images, along with the colored images, and as always finished off with some sequins.

My second card is a no-coloring card, using sheets from both the Halloween Meows Paper Pad and Halloween Woofs Paper Pad.

I die cut one of the sheets to add a little dimension to the card, and finished off with a sentiment from the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp stamp, embossed on to a circle cut from black card stock using the Circle Frames Die Set.

For my final card for today I used the new Jack-o’-lantern Stencil Set. I inked up the first two layers on to make fall pumpkins. I used distress oxide inks in Walnut Stain, Shabby Shutters, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters.

I finished off the card using some die cuts from the Fall Friends Die Set along with a vellum circle cut using the Circle Frames Die Set.

Would you like to win the “Fraken-Newton” Stamp Set?This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Halloween Inspiration Week – Day 4 | Newton’s Nook Designs

This week Newton’s Nook Designs is getting ready for Halloween with a fun Inspiration week! All week the NND Design Team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite Halloween products to get you in the mood for tricks and treats! Check out what I created today and don’t forget to check the NND Blog each day this week for more fun inspiration!

For my card, I decided to use the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set, cause who can resist this cute images!

I started by stamping the two images from the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set on to heavy weight card stock using copic friendly ink and colored them in using copic markers, and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

Copic Combo : N0, C1, 3, 5, 7; E15, 37; YR00; Y15, 17; V15, 17; B00, 02; YG06, 23

Next I created the inked background using distress oxide ink (chipped sapphire, seedless preserves, ripe persimmon, and wild honey). Then I splattered it with water, black and white paint for some added depth.

Copic Combo : 0; N0; C5, 7; YR04, 14, 15; Y15, 17; YG06, 23; BV04, 08; E57, 59

Once I went to assemble the card, I found that the colored images were getting lost on the inked background, so I die cut stitched squares using the Slimline Frames and Windows Die Set and used them as a background instead. I almost embossed a sentiment from the same Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set on to the third square. I added the squares to the inked background and finished off the card with some jewels to match the ink colors.

Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – Day 2 – Count Newton & Trick or Treat Kittens + coordinating Dies

Welcome back for day 2 of reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! Today we are showcasing the Count Newton and Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set and coordinating dies. Here’s how I was inspired!

As I mentioned yesterday Halloween cards are a whole new world to me! I didn’t really know where to start but decided to have some fun and play around with colors, and love the results! More Halloween coming your way from now!

For my first card I started by creating a galaxy background on some heavy weight black cardstock using distress oxide inks, along with some metallic paints. I used a die to create windows for my scene and embossed the sentiment from the Count Newton stamp set on to one of them in gold.

Next I stamped and colored the images from the Count Newton stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I arranged them around the window on the card front, adhering them with a combination of glue and foam tape.

My second card is probably my favorite stamp from this release (you’ll be surprised that it’s not another one, once you see the whole release!). To create this card, I started by die cutting the word “BOO” from some left over galaxy paper from my first card. Then I created the background using the Candy Corn Stencil, I inked up the first two layers with pigment ink, and the last layer with some texture paste.

Next I stamped and colored all the images from the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I adhered the larger images in the free space between the “BOO” and added the extra candy images around the letters.

Would you like to win the “Count Newton”  or the “Trick or Treat Kittens” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Here’s how to win: Comment on the NND blog and Design Team blogs (see list below)! The winner will be chosen at random from the collective reveal posts. Newton’s Nook Designs August Release – Day 1 – Brooms & Boos + coordinating Dies and Candy Corn Stencil

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not feel like fall outside, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Brooms & Boos stamp set and coordinating dies & Candy Corn Stencil. Here’s how I was inspired!

This is my first time creating a Halloween card, I didn’t really know where I was going when I started making this card, but I pretty pleased with the result! I really hope that you like and are inspired by it too!

To create this card, I started by coloring two of the witches from the Brooms & Boos stamp set, using copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating dies. Next I created the background using the Bokeh Stencil Set along with a yellow, green and purple dye inks on the first layer and white pigment ink on the second layer.

I felt the witches were getting lost in the background, so I die cut little squares using the scallop square from the Slimline Frames & Window Die Set from some black cardstock that I used to create a galaxy background.

I adhered the squares to the bokeh background, embossed a sentiment in gold onto one of them, and added the witch die cuts to the other two. Lastly, I added some jewels to the card to finish it off.

Would you like to win the “Brooms & Boos”  Stamp Set? This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!
