Welcome to the Newton’s Nook Designs 7th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!

The Newton’s Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentines day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my project I made some jar ‘wrappers’, as I am calling them! Basically a fun way to decorate some homemade treats in a jar!

I started by stamping and heat embossing (with white embossing powder) the heart image from the Heartfelt Love stamp set. I ink blended it with distress oxides (in spun sugar, picked raspberry and festive berries) to create an ombre background. I die cut the image using the largest scallop heart from the Heart Frames Die Set. I embossed and fussy cut the sentiment from the Love & Chocolate stamp set, along with the strawberry. I colored the strawberry using Zig real brush markers (in 068 deep brown, 041 light green, 047 may green, 010 black, 029 germanium red).

To ‘assemble’ it, I adhered the heart on to a doily and then wrapped it around my jars using ribbon. I filled my jars with granola, but I’m sure chocolate chip cookies will be better!
