Heartfelt Thanks | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday, Happy February and Happy Lunar New Year! I’m so ready for a fresh start, January was LONG, tiring and I am still playing catch up. I had so so many things planned for January, and none of it happened 😦 So here’s to a fresh start to 2022 with LNY!

I’m up on the Newton’s Nook Design Blog today sharing a Thank You card (that you can change up a bit to make a Valentines day card!) mixing some older products with their latest stencil, the Petite Hearts Stencil from their January release.

To create this card, I started by adding Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo to the Petite Hearts Stencil on an A2 white sheet of paper, once it dried I ran it through my laminator with a sheet of Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets (in Pink Carnation). My sheet warped a bit so stacked a few books over it while I worked on my coloring.

Copic Combos : R24, 22, 20; YG17, 13, 01

Next I stamped the image from Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set onto copic friendly card stock using a light brown ink and colored it using copic markers (combinations listed above). After I finished coloring I restamped the image with watermark ink and embossed it in gold. Next I die cut the colored image to give it a stitched and scalloped edge by using the Heart Frame Die Set

To finish off the card, I the die cut heart over the flocked heart background. Then I built the sentiment using the word “heartfelt” from the Heartfelt Roses Stamp Set, embossed in gold and paired it with a “thanks” die cut in gold, and backed with a black die cut to create a shadow.

I hope these cards inspire you to create something winter themed! Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!

Floral Thank You Card | Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Thursday crafty friends! I hope that you are had a productive start to your week and manage to get some crafty time! January is thank you card season for me, so I have been making a bunch of those to replenish my stash!

To create this card I :

  1. I stamped the floral heart image from the Honey Bee Stamps Hello Sweetheart stamp set using Memento Rich Cocoa.

2. Next I colored them using copic markers (G21, G24, YG63; E15, E37; V01, V04, V12; YG21 and R14, R32, R43).

3. After the coloring was done, I restamped the image using watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder, and die cut it using the coordinating die. (not pictured) I also heat embossed a sentiment on black cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die.

4. Lastly I die cut a background for the card using Swirling Leaves Pierced A2 Cover Plate from white cardstock and the detailed die from the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine from golden card stock.

5. I layered it all together and as always finished off with some jewels.

Thanks for following along today! I hope that this project inspires you to create something and make sure to head over to ScrapbookPal‘s blog and Instagram for moe inspiration!

Layers of Butterflies | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday! I’m finally sharing a NON Eid card! Don’t worry, there’s plenty of Eid inspiration over on my Instagram! Today’s card is using some of my favorite Newton’s Nook Design products, the Heartfelt Butterflies along with the Butterflies Stencil Set.

To create this card I started with a A2 piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and the solid layer of the Butterflies Stencil Set, and inked it up using Distress Oxides (in Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet). I lined up and added the second layer of the stencil and added the details using white pigment ink. Make sure to set it aside to dry for a bit!

Now with the background drying, I heat embossed the image from the Heartfelt Butterflies stamp set with gold embossing powder on to vellum, and die cut it using the largest scallop heart from the Heart Frames Die Set. Lastly I heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set on to a die cut from the Banner Trio Die Set.

I hope this card inspires you to create something for spring! Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!
