Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 2 – Snowflake Oval

Happy Friday-eve! Welcome to the last day of reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and its been such a fun week sharing so much holiday inspiration with y’all! Today may be the last day here on the blog, but make sure to check my instagram as I will be sharing more over there! Today we are showcasing the Snowflake Oval stamp set, it’s the latest addition to the  Oval Card Front Collection and it works with the the Oval Frames Die Set.

To create today’s card, I started by stamping and embossing the image with silver embossing powder from the Snowflake Oval set. I inked it up using distress inks shown below and splattered it with silver paint. Once it dried, I die cut it using one of the scallop oval dies from the Oval Frames Die Set.

To finish off the card, I embossed the Snowfall Stencil on to an A2 card base and splattered it with the same silver paint for a little added dimension. Once it dried, I layered the ink blended, stamped image along with a sentiment stamped and embossed in silver, and splattered it with silver paint, and added it with some foam tape to the card front.

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 3 – Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift + coordinating Die

Happy Wednesday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Christmas Nap and Newton’s Gift along with the coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

I love creating all ‘levels’ of cards! Sometimes its a super detailed shaker, some times I let the stamp and paper do the work!

For my first card today, I started by stamping, and sentiment, then colored the image from Newton’s Gift with copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating dies. My color palette was inspired by a sheet of pattern paper from the Canine Christmas Paper Pad that I used as the card base.

Once I was done coloring, I trimmed down a piece of pattern paper to an A2 size and used the extra flipped over to create a little dimension.

The colored image was blending into the background, so I decided to die cut a vellum oval using the Oval Frames Die Set to back the image and have it pop a little!

For my second card, I used the new Christmas Nap stamp set, and the image itself is a scene, so I didn’t want to add to much to the card front, and decided to add a night sky shaker window to look like a window behind the sofa.

To create the card, I started by stamping the image, coloring with copic markers and die cutting using the coordinating dies.

Next I created the shaker window using the outline die from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set, and backed it with acetate. For the back of the shaker I inked blended with distress oxide inks in Stormy Sky and Speckled Egg. Once it was dry, I added some texture paste with the Petite Snow Stencil. I filled the shaker with stars and sequins before adding it to the back of the card.

I finished off the card my adding the colored image in front of the window, and adding the sentiment at the bottom.

Would you like to win the “Christmas Nap” or the “Newton’s Gift” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 2 – Holiday Haul and Wreath Pups + their coordinating Die

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Holiday Haul and Wreath Pups along with their coordinating Dies! Here’s how I was inspired!

I didn’t get to using the Canine Christmas Paper pad on Day 1 of sneak peaks, so I pulled it out for today’s card! I also used my favorite technique of dry embossing with stencils to add a little extra dimension to the cards.

For my first card, I started by die cutting a piece of pattern paper to crate a gift card holder (you can also use a Cricut!) I also die cut a small rectangle to back my image, to help it pop on the pattern paper. I embossed it using the Petite Snow Stencil. Last die cut piece was a banner using the Banner Trio Die Set, cut from black cardstock, onto which I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the Holiday Heights stamp set.

To finish off the card, I stamped, colored and die cut the image from the Wreath Pups stamp set using copic markers (shown above) and die cut it using the coordinating die before adhering it to the card.

For my second card, I couldn’t help but make a little red truck! Maybe next time it’ll be the little blue truck!

To create this card, I started my stamping and coloring the image from the Holiday Haul stamp set using copic markers and die cut it using the coordinating die.

To finish off the card, I started by embossing the card front using the Holiday Foliage Stencil, the next layer is a plaid pattern paper from the Christmas Time Paper Pad die cut using a frame die from the Frames & Flags Die Set. Last ‘layer’ is the sentiment, from the same Holiday Haul stamp set, stamped on to a banner die cut from the  Frames & Flags Die Set. After stamping the sentiment, I ink blended over it to add some dimension and tucked it behind the colored image.

Would you like to win the “Holiday Haul” or the “Wreath Pups” Stamp Set?We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Newton’s Nook Designs October Release – Day 1 – Holiday Heights + coordinating Die, Canine Christmas Paper Pad, Christmas Time Paper Pad and Christmas Tree Line Stencil Set

Happy Monday! It’s reveal week over at Newton’s Nook Designs and I’m so excited to share a ton of inspiration with you this week! It might not be the holiday season yet, but it sure looks like it’s here in my craft room! Today we are showcasing the Holiday Heights along with the coordinating Dies, and 2 Paper Pads, Christmas Time and Canine Christmas, and the Christmas Tree Line Stencil Set! Here’s how I was inspired!

I’ve recently been enjoying making CAS cards, while sneaking in shakers here and there! So stay tuned as I have a ton of cards to share with y’all this week!

For my first card today, I created a simple card using some pattern paper from the Christmas Time Paper Pad. I die cut it using a cover die, and cut it again using some coordinating plain card stock. I paper pieced it back together in the front of an A2 card base. I finished off the card by stamping a sentiment from the Heartfelt Holidays on to a banner die cut from the Frames & Flags Die Set. Before adhering it to the card I inked it up lightly using Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink to add a little dimension.

For my second card, I used the Christmas Tree Line Stencil Set. It’s the perfect layered stencil to mass produce cards, as it has the perfect details to make a card look fancy without much work!

To create this card, I started by masking off the bottom half of the card, and covering the rest of it with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. Next I inked up the first layer of the stencil (the trees) with Pine Needle and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I inked up the second layer (stars and trunks) using Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink. For the last layer, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops! Yes, Nuvo drops! Try it! Just remember to wash your stencil ASAP!

After the nuvo drops dried, I stamped sentiment from the Snow Much Cheer to finish off my card.

For my third and last card today, I used one of the images from the Holiday Heights stamp set! This set as it’s own coordinating dies, and it works with the previously released Bookmark Die Set. To create this card, I started with stamping the image, colored it with copic markers, and cut it out using the coordinating die.

To create the shaker/sentiment part of the card, I die cut the word “MERRY” using letter die cuts, backed it with acetate, filled it with gold sequins and closed it up using a second sheet of acetate. I ink blended the front of the card base using distress oxide inks in Barn Door and Pine Needles to show through the shaker letters. I finished off the card by stamping “Christmas!” from the Heartfelt Holidays stamp set, by masking off the “merry” part and adhering the colored image to the front of the card.

Would you like to win the “Holiday Heights” Stamp Set?This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!
