Pretty Pink Posh

Storybook Florals | Pretty Pink Posh

Happy Monday! Hope y’all had a great weekend! I logged off and went off the grid, hiked, took in nature and had a blast! It was no relaxing and rejuvenating! But it’s Monday and that means back to real life! Sharing a Pretty Pink Posh card today on Instagram and popping in here to share the details!

Today’s card is using a much older (and forgotten product!) from my stash, the Storybook 1 Die, there is a full collection, and I own them all, just don’t use them, LOL! I hope things change as I am starting to make WAY more scene/critter cards!

To create this card, I started by coloring one of the floral images from Flower Bouquets Stamp Set, along with some of the smaller floral images from Bunny Friends Stamp Set using copic markers. After coloring I die cut/fussy cut the images. Next I created the background by inking up an A2 piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock in a blue to yellow ombre, I layered with the Leaves Stencil and blended with white pigment ink to create a shadow effect.

Next I cut it the inked panel using the Storybook 1 Die. Before mounting the die cut card front on to card base, I inked up the card base with some light green ink. I added some water splatters to both the inked pieces and mounted the die cut one on top with foam tape for some added dimension. I stamped the sentiment from the Flower Bouquets Stamp, added my colored images, and finished off with some jewels.

Pretty Pink Posh

Framed Crocuses | Pretty Pink Posh

Hi! Quickly popping in to share a fun card using some older Pretty Pink Posh products for my second guest post for July! I still can’t believe it and am so excited!

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring all the flowers and leaves from the Crocus Flowers stamp set using alcohol markers, and cut them out using the coordinating dies.

To assemble the card I started with a top folding A2 size white card base, and added the Lattice die cut. To frame the crocuses, I used the smaller of the Scallop Frame dies cut from some light purple card stock to match the flowers. I adhered the fame and the colored images using foam tape. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Simple Sentiment stamp set embossed in white onto a strip of black card stock and a mix of jewels.

Today I’m sharing a floral card (you know me!) using a stamp set from an older release, Farm Fresh Flowers stamp set.

I started by stamping, coloring using copies and die cutting the images using the coordinating dies. Then I heat embossed the a thin sentiment from the same Farm Fresh Flowers stamp set on to the jug.

To create the background, I embossed a sheet of paper from the Playful Pastels Paper Pad using the Whimsical Hearts A2 Cover Plate.

Acetate Spring Card | Newton’s Nook Designs

Happy Tuesday! I made this card while dreaming of spring, but seems like my dream came true as I type this on a spring like day, while drinking a frappe in the sun!

To make this spring inspired card, I started by stamping (in a light brown ink) the Floral Roundabout stamp set, then coloring with copic markers. I heat embossed the image in gold, and die cut it using the largest stitched circle from the Circle Frames die set. I also die cut the largest scallop die four times from heavy weight white card stock. I heat embossed a sentiment from the same Floral Roundabout stamp set, onto a oval banner die cut from the Banner Trio set. Then I inked up the banner with a pink to yellow ombré.

To assemble the card I used an A2 sized top folding acetate card base. For the front of the card I layered a scallop diecut behind the colored circle diecut. I added the sentiment using some foam tape and added a few sequins to finish the front. After adhering these stacked diecuts onto the front of the A2 acetate card base I then placed one behind it to cover the adhesive. I did the same for the back of the card base to. This gives you a ‘hidden space’ to write your message.

I hope this card inspires you to create something for spring or stretch your supplies and create a nontraditional card. Please make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog for more inspiration and don’t forget to tag #NewtonsNook or #NewtonsNookDesign on Instagram to share what you created!

Floral Bouquet | Honey Bee Stamps

Hi! Most of y’all probably know that I live in the greater Seattle area and one of my favorite things to do when I worked in the city was to get fresh flowers from Pike Place Market. Oh how I miss those days! Soon, I hope. Till then we recreate flowers in our craft room.

To create this card, I started by stamping and coloring (using copics) the flower bunch from the Love You Bunches stamp set and die cutting it using the coordinating dies. Then I die cut the Floral Bouquet Wrap from vellum. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Love You Bunches stamp set using white embossing powder onto grey cardstock.

To assemble the card I started with a A2 grey cardbase, then I dry embossed the Whimsical Hearts A2 Cover Plate onto a pink ombre sheet from the love letters paper pad as the card front. Lastly I wrapped the floral image and adhered the sentiment on top.
