Joy Clair Designs

Joy Clair Designs September 2020 release

Welcome to Release Day!! I’m excited to share a fun project with y’all using the newly release, Seasonal Leaves Digital Set!

As I mentioned before, using digital stamps means not only can you resize the images as you wish, your can also foil them! After years of hoarding my mini minc, I finally turn it on these days!

Copic Combos :

To make these cards I started by cropping Seasonal Leaves Digital Set a little larger than 5.5 x 4.5, and printing it out along with a black rectangle of the same size on heavy weight white cardstock. Then I foiled the background print, and used the ‘leftover’ foil along with the black rectangle to make a second card front. Because the toner transfers the foil, you will be able to see the stamp image show though as there was no foil there from the first card.

Foil : Therm O Web in dazzling orange

For the first card, I trimmed down the fully foiled card front, and added some copic colored images from the Beauty Love Digital Set. Before printing the flower, I edited the image and placed the sentiment in the middle.

Distress Oxides : Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Candied Apple

For the second card with the image foiled, I trimmed it down and ink blended in fall colors, before adhering it to an A2 kraft card base and finished off with some copic colored images from the Beauty Love Digital Set.

The Seasonal Leaves Digital Set is great for coloring too! I just wanted to show you a fun way to make quick cards, that you can mass produce, need be!

Angie Blom Designs

Using Digital ‘Card Kits’ (with AngelicaBoom Designs)

Have y’all jumped on the digital stamps band wagon yet? I discovered them at the start of quarantine back in March, and never turned back! It’s cheap, need no storage space, and it’s instant download so no wait time! So my collection has been growing, AND there are companies with freebies too! I just found a bunch, so will be sharing them when I get a chance!

I made these two cards using stamps from Angie Blom Digital Designs, and I didn’t have to edit or resize! I just printed, colored and trimmed them down before adhering them to a card base! How you ask? Cause Angie is the smartest and she sells you the images along with ‘kits’. They come in slim line and A2 size card fronts! They are perfect for taking on vacation, and coloring on the go, but who knows when that will happen again!

I printed the images on to Heavy weight white cardstock, then colored with Copic Markers. I foiled the sentiment, and then trimmed the image down using the Slim cut basic creative cuts from Mama Elephant. Lastly I adhered them to the Neenah dessert storm slim line card bases.

Acetate Birthday cards (with Joy Clair Designs)

Happy Wednesday y’all! Honestly I don’t even know why I bother trying to keep track of days/dates anymore! I hope y’all are having a productive week BUT taking breaks to try and enjoy the last days of summer! For the first time in years, I’m not looking forward to fall. The probability of no football doesn’t seem appealing anymore! But I guess there will be lots of crafty time! Today I’m sharing two birthday cards using the Make a Wish stamp set from Joy Clair Designs. Birthday and Thank you cards are my most used/made cards, what yours?

Assembling this card is a little tricky because of the extra acetate layer. So, today’s write up is going to be a little different, in an effort to make it clear so you can replicate it!

Firstly start off by resizing and printing the two border images from the Make a Wish stamp set, make sure the image is 4.5 inches wide. After coloring you can use a brother scan and cut if you have one, or fussy cut, like I did. Then I ink blended a A2 piece of paper in rainbow order using distress oxides, and die cut a Happy Birthday script sentiment from it. I stacked the die cut, using some scrap paper.

Now to assemble the card, you’ll need :
2 A2 white side folding cardbases, 2 pieces of 4.25 x 5 inch acetate scored at 4.25, double sided tape and liquid adhesive. Then :
1.  Add a strip of double sided tape to the short end of the scored acetate.
2. Adhere the acetate to the back of the A2 card front, on the open side, your card should now look similar to a gate fold card.
3. Add adhesive to the colored images from the Make a Wish stamp set and adhere them to the open side of the acetate, and trim the excess.
4. Lastly, stick on the sentiments to complete the card.
The extra step of using a A2 card base is to make sure that you have space to write a message! Make sure to check if you need extra postage when you put it in the mail!

Coloring Medium : Chameleon Color Tones Pencils
Copic Combos : B21-34, G12-21, R20-22, V22-25, Y11-21, YR15-12

Evelin T Designs

Peony Slimline (with Evelin T Designs)

Welcome back! Hope y’all had a great weekend! It sure was HOT here in Seattle! Thank God for AC and craft time! My new obsession is digital stamps! I love that they are way more affordable, can be resized, foiled and there’s no shipping time! Win-Win- and so many more wins!

For today’s card I used the With Love, Peonies from Evelin T Designs. I resized the image and printed two of them on the same sheet to be able to create a slimline card front.

Copic Combos : RV 63 – 66 – 69 and YG 67 – 63 – G 21

I colored the peony images using the copic combos list above, then die cut using a slim line die. Then I added a die cut sentiment, cut from golden card stock and stacked with regular cardstock for added dimension. I finished the card by adhering the card panel on to a kraft card base.

Can’t wait to use this image again! What’s your favorite digital stamp? Let me know in the comments below!

Joy Clair Designs

Rainbow Mandalas (with Joy Clair Designs)

Y’all have probably figured out by now that I’m obsessed with rainbows! I also have a thing for mandalas, so of course I had to use the Mandala Love stamp set from the Joy Clair designs August release.

I recently started using digital stamps, and slowly learning to resize/edit them, there are so many possibilities for using them! For this set of cards, I started by resizing the images from the Mandala Love stamp set to fit into a 4 x 4 inch square. I then printed, colored (details below) to create a rainbow and fussy cut them (you can use a scan and cut, but I don’t have one of those yet!). To assemble the cards, I used A2 sized kraft card bases, which I dry embossed using the xyz stencil. I then adhered the images from the Mandala Love set to the card fronts, and added a thank you die cut sentiment to finish the card.

The Mandala Love stamp set has three lovely images, and since I couldn’t just chose one, I made three cards! I used different types of coloring mediums and have listed them along with colors I used below!

Coloring medium: Copic Markers  –  Colors used: V12, B34, YG23, Y13, YR 18, R14, RV13
Coloring medium: Derwant Inktense Colored Pencils – Colors used: Fushia (0700), Sea Blue (1200), Apple Green (1400), Sherbet Lemon (0100), Tangerine (0300), Poppy Red (0400)
Coloring Medium: Distress Oxide Inks – Colors used: Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemon, Candied Apple

Joy Clair Designs August 2020 release

Im so excited to share with y’all that I’m on the Joy Clair Designs 2020-2021 design team! Thank you Martha for this lovely opportunity, and for believing in my talent. That being said, it’s time to share the August 2020 digital stamps release with y’all! Let’s start with a sneak peak at some of the cards you will see when you hop along, stay tuned for more details on that!

I created two cards using the Floral Friends stamp set.

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably know that I am huge on making layered cards, the more the merrier! But I am not a fan of fussy cutting intricate images, and since I was working with digital stamps, and haven’t learnt how to use my cricut to cut them, I decided to try and create a one layer card, which is quite a challenge for me!

Copic colors used
Flowers : R39-R24-R05 and Leaves : YG67-YG63-YG03

For the first card, I took one of the floral images from the Floral Friends stamp set and created a card front on picmonkey, printing it out in an A2 size (on A4 paper, trimming it down after printing). I colored the images using my copic markers and foiled the sentiment. That’s it! I was tempted to add embellishments, as I usually do.

Copic colors used
Flowers : Y15-Y13-Y11 and Leaves : YG67-YG63-YG03

For the second card, I used the same images from the Floral Friends stamp set, this time fussy cutting after coloring. To assemble the card, I ink blended the front of a A2 card with some yellow ink, then added a lattice cover die for some depth. Finally I added the sentiment and floral images using foam tape for added dimension.

What’s your card making style? Layered or CAS?
