Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop | Newton’s Nook Designs

Today is the Newton’s Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from my teamie, Maria Russell‘s blog.  If not, you’ll want to start at the beginning of the hop which is the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog.

For today’s hop I created this fun see though card using acetate! This card actually ended up the way I imagined in my head!

To create it, I started by stenciling the Snowfall Stencil with texture paste on to a sheet of acetate, once it dried a trimmed it down to an A2 card front.

While the stenciled acetate was drying, I colored from the Newton’s Gift using copic marker, and die cut it using the coordinating die. I also embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set in white embossing powder. Next I die cut two stitched ovals using the Oval Frames Die Set from the Canine Christmas Paper Pad.

To finish the card, I trimmed down a sheet of light blue paper to an A2 size, and scored it 1/4 of an inch on the long edge and used double sided tape the acetate sheet to create the card front. I added the ovals die cuts to the acetate sheet, and then the colored die cut image. Lastly I finished the card off by stamping a sentiment from the Heartfelt Holidays.

Layer Die Shaker Card | #racismisaviruscardhop

Happy Hump Day! Welcome to the #racismisaviruscardhop! Please head over to naushabuloushandmade on Instagram to hop along.

I made a card inspired by my time in Vietnam (I need to share pictures of that, one day!)

I ink blended an A2 card panel with my Taylored Expression blending brushes and fired brick distress oxide ink. The I die cut the outline of the flower and leaf using the Layered Rose Die Set from Altenew. I die cut the details, along with the Thinking of You Script Die from golden glitter paper. I layered the die cut card front and added a LOT of foam tape to create the shaker window. Filled it with some older Pretty Pink Posh star sequins. Finished off my adding the glitter die cuts and some gold jewels.

This card was inspired by Ink Hill Revival. Thanks for always inspiring us!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Happy crafting!

Purple Peonies | Eating Disorder Awareness Hop

If you didn’t come here from my Instgram, make sure to head over there for a blog hope AND make sure to check out Candice’s post to see more details on the hop!

Before getting into the details of the card I wanted to take a minute to share some facts about Eating disorders, as that’s the point of this hop.

Eating Disorders are complex mental illnesses with physical manifestations. The myths and misconceptions surrounding these illnesses often serve to perpetuate the stigma that prevents so many folks from receiving life-saving support and treatment, so today we’re hopping along to raise awareness and hope for these very underserved (but prevalent) disorders.

Did you know? Many people with eating disorders don’t lose weight, and may actually gain weight as a result of their disorder.

To make this card, I started by stamping and coloring the largest image from Newtons Nook Designs Peony Blooms stamp set. I used copics in the follow combination : V12-15-17 and YG 01-03-06. Then I fussy cut it or you can use the coordinating die.

I embossed the Lattice Stencil from Pretty Pink Posh to create the background for the card. Then I added a rectangle scallop die cut, also from Pretty Pink Posh cut from purple paper. Lastly I added a sentiment from the simple sentiments stamp set on a black strip cut from the mama elephant quick strips die cut.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to head over to Instagram to check out the hop!

Happy Crafting!

Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop

Happy Saturday! Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop! Make sure to scroll to the end to see all the other participants! For my card, I decided to step out of my comfort zone with some space themed stamps! I used some slimline dies from Honeybee stamps and paired it with space stamps from Heffy Doodle.

I started by die cutting a slimline base using the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched | Honey Cuts from black cardstock. I also die cut a cloud border using the Horizon Slimline Borders | Honey Cuts from the same black cardstock. I then inked it up using distress oxide ink (in mermaid lagoon, fossilized amber, dusty concord and black soot) to create the galaxy background. I finished off the backgrounds with some water splatters, along with some silver watercolor.

I stamped and colored all the images from Spaced Out Clear Stamps and colored them with copic markers, and die cut them using the coordinating dies. I layered the cloud border onto the slimline card base using foam tape for added dimension, and then scattered all the colored images around to create the scene. I adhered them with both liquid and foam tape to add more some dimension.

Yay! You made it this far! Now … Make sure to comment along the way for your chance to win! Honey Bee Stamps will be giving away $30 and Heffy Doodle will be giving away £25 to their respective stores!  Be sure to comment before 11:59 PM on Feb 3rd to be entered to win!

Joy Clair Designs

National Coffee Day Blog Hop with Joy Clair Designs

Hey y’all! Welcome back to the recently neglected blog! I’ve still been posting over at Joy Clair Designs and on my Instagram account, just haven’t had the time to blog each card I made! But I’m super excited to be back today to share a coffee (well tea!) themed card as part of National Coffee Day!

If you didn’t already come here from Joy Clair Designs blog, make sure to head over there, as they are giving away one gift card of $15 dollars of Joy Clair Designs Store (valid for stamps only) to a randomly chosen comment on the blog post.

Here’s the card I made for the hop! I used the Cup of Joy digital stamp set, and attempted a pastel look because I’m trying to hold on to summer!

I started by printing and coloring one of the images from the Cup of Joy digital stamp set using copic makers (colors listed below). Since I can’t figure out how to use my cricut, I just fussy cut the images, but I did die cut the sentiment with a banner die cause I cannot for the life in me draw a straight line!

Copic Combos :

To finish off the card, I used a piece of pattern paper die cut with a cover die, and adhered the tea cup image and sentiment using some foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! If you would like to get this or any other coffee themed stamp from Joy Clair Designs, they are on sale! Use code : NCD2020 to get 25% off. Code valid till Oct 2nd.

Lastly, don’t forget to stop by the Joy Clair Designs blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a $15 gift card to the Joy Clair Designs Store.

Thanks for stopping by!
Till the next time, stay safe, sane and crafty!

Joy Clair Designs August 2020 release

Im so excited to share with y’all that I’m on the Joy Clair Designs 2020-2021 design team! Thank you Martha for this lovely opportunity, and for believing in my talent. That being said, it’s time to share the August 2020 digital stamps release with y’all! Let’s start with a sneak peak at some of the cards you will see when you hop along, stay tuned for more details on that!

I created two cards using the Floral Friends stamp set.

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably know that I am huge on making layered cards, the more the merrier! But I am not a fan of fussy cutting intricate images, and since I was working with digital stamps, and haven’t learnt how to use my cricut to cut them, I decided to try and create a one layer card, which is quite a challenge for me!

Copic colors used
Flowers : R39-R24-R05 and Leaves : YG67-YG63-YG03

For the first card, I took one of the floral images from the Floral Friends stamp set and created a card front on picmonkey, printing it out in an A2 size (on A4 paper, trimming it down after printing). I colored the images using my copic markers and foiled the sentiment. That’s it! I was tempted to add embellishments, as I usually do.

Copic colors used
Flowers : Y15-Y13-Y11 and Leaves : YG67-YG63-YG03

For the second card, I used the same images from the Floral Friends stamp set, this time fussy cutting after coloring. To assemble the card, I ink blended the front of a A2 card with some yellow ink, then added a lattice cover die for some depth. Finally I added the sentiment and floral images using foam tape for added dimension.

What’s your card making style? Layered or CAS?
