Slimline and Shakers (with Joy Clair Designs)

Plans for the weekend? I’m hoping that I can squeeze in some uninterrupted TV time, given the pandemic, it’s a lot to ask! But fortunately I’ve been able to craft, even if it takes me 3 days to make one card! What are you doing to stay grounded through all that is happening in the world?

With the God Guides stamp set from Joy Clair Designs I made two (kind of coordinating) cards. First, I started by resizing and printing one of the floral images from the stamp set 5 times. Twice sized into a 8.5 x 3.5 layout so that I could trim it down to make a slim line card front.

Copic Color Combos : V 17-15-12, V 25-22-20, YG 67-63-G 21, G 99-94-YG 03; Distress Oxide in Seedless Preserves for Ink Blending

For the slimline card, as I mentioned above, I arranged the images from the God Guides stamp set in such a way that I was able to trim it down to a 3.5 x 8.5 slim line card front. After printing and die cutting the panel, I colored the image using copic makers, color combo’s listed above.

In addition, I also colored an additional pair of the larger flower, which I then fussy cut and adhered to the card front using crafty foam tape for some added dimension. (unfortunately not very visible in the picture!).

To finish off  the card I used a sentiment stacked sentiment die cut, cut from some ink blended card stock to match the copic colored flowers.

Copic Color Combos : RV 69-66-63, V 25-22-20, YG 67-63-G 21, G 99-94-YG 03; Distress Oxide in Seedless Preserves for Ink Blending

For my second card, I created a shaker card using the same image from the God Guides stamp set. This time after coloring (again with copics, color combos are listed above), I fussy cut the whole image, then die cut a shaker sentiment, adhered it to some acetate and added crafty foam tape for dimension.

Before adding the shaker element to the card base, I ink blended part of it to make the white die cut pop. I filled the shaker with sequins from my stash, and lastly adhered my fussy cut floral image using some foam tape.
